You will be at the heart of decision-making processes, providing essential insights that drive business growth and operational excellence. The company values your expertise in cost accounting and offers a supportive environment where your analytical skills and attention to detail will be highly appreciated. • Enjoy flexible working opportunities and ongoing training designed to support your professional growth while contributing to continuous improvement projects across the organisation.
  • Be part of a supportive network where your analytical abilities are valued, and your input helps shape cost control initiatives and profitability strategies.

What you'll do:

As a Senior Cost Accountant, you will be entrusted with preparing, analysing, and maintaining critical product costing information that underpins pricing decisions, profitability analysis, and cost control initiatives. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve close collaboration with cross-functional teams such as Purchasing, Production, and Finance to ensure all aspects of product costing are accurately captured. You will update costing models in response to market fluctuations or process changes, monitor BOM data integrity, review labour allocations, support inventory valuation efforts, and generate insightful reports for management. Your ability to recommend process improvements will contribute significantly to enhancing costing accuracy and operational efficiency. By participating in cross-functional projects aimed at improving profitability, you will help drive the organisation’s success while developing your own expertise within a nurturing environment.

  • Prepare detailed product cost calculations by analysing material, labour, overhead, and subcontracting costs to provide reliable data for pricing and profitability assessments.
  • Deliver accurate costing information for comprehensive profitability analysis that supports management’s strategic decision-making.
  • Update costing models regularly to reflect changes in material prices, exchange rates, and evolving manufacturing processes.
  • Analyse manufacturing costs thoroughly to identify potential cost-saving opportunities that enhance overall operational efficiency.
  • Monitor material cost variances closely and investigate discrepancies to maintain financial accuracy and transparency.
  • Conduct in-depth profitability and margin analysis for both products and customers, supporting robust financial planning.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing to obtain up-to-date material pricing information for precise Bill of Materials (BOM) costing data management.
  • Review labour and overhead costs meticulously to ensure correct allocation across all production activities.
  • Support inventory valuation processes as well as broader cost accounting activities to maintain compliance with company policies.
  • Prepare monthly costing and margin reports for management review while generating additional cost analysis reports for new or existing products.

What you bring:

Your background includes significant experience in manufacturing environments where you have developed advanced skills in cost accounting practices. You bring a recognised degree or professional qualification such as CIMA along with deep familiarity with various costing methodologies including full absorption costing. Your proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP systems allows you to manage large datasets efficiently while maintaining high standards of accuracy. You possess strong analytical capabilities which enable you to identify trends or anomalies within complex financial data sets. Your excellent communication style fosters positive relationships across departments—ensuring that everyone from Purchasing through Production understands the implications of your analyses. • At least five years’ experience in manufacturing costing, cost accounting, or financial analysis within an industrial setting is essential.
  • Comprehensive understanding of costing methodologies including full absorption costing as well as variance analysis techniques is necessary.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel combined with hands-on experience using ERP systems is expected for effective performance.
  • Strong analytical skills paired with an ability to solve complex problems related to manufacturing costs are vital attributes for this role.
  • Excellent communication skills along with proven interpersonal abilities enable you to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Demonstrated capacity for working independently while consistently meeting deadlines ensures reliability within the team environment.
  • Experience in electronics manufacturing, precision engineering, metal fabrication or contract manufacturing industries would be advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with BOM structures as well as practical knowledge of manufacturing processes enhances your suitability for this position.
