Senior Account Executive

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Accounts Executive to join an established group based in Damansara.

What you'll do:

• Oversee the complete set of accounts, including handling accounts payable, accounts receivable, maintaining the general ledger, and executing month-end closing activities with precision.
• Prepare detailed monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for management review, ensuring all documentation meets established accounting standards.
• Assist in the budgeting process by preparing forecasts and conducting variance analysis to support strategic financial planning for the retail business.
• Monitor cash flow diligently by managing timely payments, collections, and performing regular cash reconciliations across multiple retail outlets.
• Collaborate closely with the retail operations team to reconcile inventory balances, track stock levels accurately, and analyse any variances that arise.
• Analyse expenditures thoroughly to identify cost-saving opportunities while monitoring adherence to approved budgets throughout the year.
• Ensure strict compliance with tax regulations by preparing and submitting GST/SST filings as well as other statutory requirements on time.
• Prepare comprehensive audit schedules and coordinate effectively with external auditors during annual audits to facilitate smooth audit processes.
• Maintain the accounting system (ERP) efficiently while seeking ways to improve reporting processes for greater accuracy and operational efficiency.
• Implement process improvements aimed at streamlining accounting operations and enhancing overall reporting quality.

What you bring:

• Possess a Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline which provides you with a solid foundation in core accounting principles.
• Demonstrate at least 2-5 years of hands-on experience managing full set accounts.
• Show proficiency in using accounting software such as SQL or ERP systems alongside advanced Microsoft Office skills for effective data management.
• Exhibit strong analytical abilities coupled with problem-solving skills that enable you to deliver accurate results even when handling complex transactions or large volumes of data.
• Display familiarity with inventory management practices as well as cost accounting methods.
• Have an excellent understanding of GST/SST regulations along with other pertinent tax laws.
• Communicate clearly both verbally and in writing with internal teams as well as external stakeholders like auditors or tax authorities.
• Show flexibility by being open-minded about taking on new responsibilities as business needs evolve over time.
