What you'll do:
- Oversee and manage general accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, bank reconciliations, SST submissions, and E-Invoice processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and statements in accordance with established deadlines and regulatory requirements.
- Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities by coordinating with relevant teams to guarantee timely delivery of accurate financial data.
- Prepare or review balance sheet account reconciliations regularly while investigating and resolving any discrepancies identified during the process.
- Maintain the chart of accounts, cost centre structures, and report templates within the accounting system to support efficient financial management.
- Support the preparation of annual financial statements as well as statutory audits by liaising with both internal stakeholders and external auditors.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities by providing reliable data analysis and contributing strategic insights for informed decision-making.
- Implement and maintain robust accounting systems and procedures designed to enhance operational efficiency across all finance-related tasks.
- Proactively participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at streamlining work processes within the finance function.
- Undertake other ad hoc assignments or tasks as requested by management to support overall business objectives.
What you bring:
- Possess at least a Bachelor's Degree or professional qualification in Finance, Accountancy, Banking or equivalent field which demonstrates your solid academic foundation.
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge of accounting software such as SAP or Oracle along with proficiency in Microsoft Excel for effective data management.
- Bring a minimum of five years' experience working within accounting or auditing environments where you have developed dependable technical skills.
- Exhibit a positive work attitude by offering assistance readily to colleagues while making proactive suggestions for process improvements whenever possible.
- Show adaptability by working independently when required yet remaining approachable for team collaboration; maintain control over multiple projects simultaneously without supervision.
- Display meticulous attention to detail combined with logical thinking abilities that enable you to deliver consistent results even under tight deadlines.
- Have proven capability in reconciling accounts independently while resolving discrepancies efficiently using sound judgement.
- Experience or exposure in inventory control would be considered an added advantage for this role but is not mandatory.
- Communicate fluently in English both verbally and in writing; additional language skills are welcomed as they enhance team connectivity.
