Your expertise in tax management will be crucial as you navigate complex regulatory landscapes in partnership with corporate specialists. In addition to technical duties, you will lead a dedicated team—building their capabilities in financial controls, reporting, and compliance—while nurturing an environment where accuracy and continuous improvement are paramount. Your ability to partner effectively across departments will support key business decisions related to capital investments, inventory optimisation, automation projects, and more.
- Oversee all plant-level accounting activities including general ledger management, month-end close processes, and preparation of comprehensive financial reports to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Ensure strict adherence to Malaysian GAAP as well as US GAAP reporting standards by managing monthly, quarterly, and annual closing cycles for the facility.
- Prepare and review statutory financial statements along with local filings while coordinating consolidation efforts with regional and corporate finance teams.
- Establish and maintain a robust internal control framework that complies with SOX or equivalent corporate control standards to safeguard company assets.
- Lead risk assessments by documenting financial processes and controls thoroughly while identifying areas for improvement in operational efficiency.
- Coordinate both internal and external audits—financial as well as operational—to ensure regulatory compliance and address any findings promptly.
- Drive process improvements aimed at strengthening control effectiveness while supporting automation initiatives and upgrades to financial systems.
- Manage all aspects of corporate tax, consumption tax (VAT equivalent), and local tax compliance in Malaysia by partnering closely with Corporate Tax teams.
- Monitor changes in Malaysian tax regulations to ensure ongoing compliance while supporting tax planning initiatives and incentives.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the plant accounting and finance operations team by fostering a culture focused on accuracy, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
