  • Prepare comprehensive month-end journal vouchers, detailed financial statements, and insightful analyses with particular attention to revenue recognition methods such as percentage of completion and finance lease accounting.
  • Support timely month-end closing processes by coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure all financial data is accurately captured and reported within set deadlines.
  • Collaborate closely with group teams to gather essential data for consolidation purposes, ensuring consistency and reliability in financial reporting across multiple entities.
  • Assist in audit preparations by providing necessary documentation and explanations, supporting statutory reporting requirements, and facilitating tax compliance efforts as needed.
  • Contribute actively to process improvements by identifying automation opportunities within financial systems such as IFS, aiming to enhance efficiency and accuracy throughout the department.
  • Participate in special finance projects that require adaptability and a hands-on approach, demonstrating flexibility in meeting evolving organisational needs.
  • Engage in ad hoc assignments as directed by management, showcasing your ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Produce well-structured written materials including board papers and budget forecasts that provide valuable accounting insights for decision-makers.
  • Foster strong working relationships across departments by communicating effectively and supporting collective goals through shared knowledge and collaboration.

What you bring:

To excel as a Senior General Ledger, you will bring proven experience gained from roles involving complex financial accounting within large-scale or multinational settings. Your background may include time spent at leading accountancy firms or within industries such as infrastructure or energy—experience which has honed your understanding of both local regulations and international standards. You possess not only technical expertise but also outstanding interpersonal skills; your ability to communicate clearly ensures effective collaboration across functions. Your approach is methodical yet adaptable: you can navigate intricate challenges without losing sight of overarching objectives. A commitment to continuous learning drives you forward—whether mastering new software tools or embracing best practices in process improvement. Above all else, your dependability makes you a valued member of any team: colleagues trust your judgement while appreciating your willingness to share knowledge generously.

  • Possess between three to seven years of relevant experience in financial accounting and reporting within multinational organisations or Big 4 environments, ideally with exposure to infrastructure or offshore oil and gas sectors.
  • Demonstrate advanced analytical abilities coupled with strong financial reporting skills, enabling you to interpret complex regulatory standards and address intricate accounting matters confidently.
  • Exhibit high proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis as well as PowerPoint and Word for crafting impactful presentations tailored to diverse audiences.
  • Showcase excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—allowing you to produce clear reports, present findings persuasively, and build rapport across teams.
  • Adopt a systematic approach when addressing complex problems while maintaining solution-oriented thinking that balances meticulous attention to detail with an appreciation for broader business objectives.
  • Display self-motivation alongside an entrepreneurial mindset; you are hands-on yet collaborative, eager to engage with others while consistently delivering results under tight deadlines.
  • Hold a good degree in accounting, business administration, finance or equivalent from a recognised university along with relevant professional qualifications such as ACA or ACCA.
  • Demonstrate adaptability by participating enthusiastically in special projects or ad hoc assignments that require flexibility beyond routine responsibilities.
