What you'll do:
As an Assistant Finance Manager based in Subang Jaya, you will immerse yourself in a variety of responsibilities that are central to the organisation’s financial health. Your day-to-day activities will involve overseeing monthly account preparations with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring all financial statements are accurate and compliant. You will conduct comprehensive reviews of financial performance metrics—identifying variances and investigating exceptions—to provide valuable insights for strategic decision-making. Your role extends beyond routine tasks; you will prepare annual tax submissions, collaborate with external parties such as auditors and authorities, manage operational matters within the finance department, review payment recommendations, interact with operational teams for financial guidance, prepare budgets, monitor project costs against set parameters, assist in generating shareholder reports, oversee cash flow positions, and handle ad-hoc assignments. - Oversee the preparation of monthly financial statements by analysing, reviewing, and verifying data to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with accepted accounting principles as well as relevant acts and rules.
- Provide thorough analytical reviews of financial performance by highlighting key variances and investigating exceptions to support informed decision-making.
- Prepare annual tax submissions including estimations and other tax-related matters while liaising with auditors, company secretaries, bankers, tax consultants, and authorities.
- Ensure strict compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant acts such as the Housing Development Act and Strata Management Act through diligent monitoring.
- Manage daily operational matters within the Finance and Accounts Department by guiding team members and maintaining high standards of accuracy.
- Review payment recommendation plans along with payment vouchers and journal vouchers prepared by colleagues to ensure proper documentation and approval processes.
- Interact regularly with operation personnel to provide financial insights that support organisational decisions from a financial impact perspective.
- Prepare annual budgets while monitoring actual performance against budgeted figures to identify areas for improvement or adjustment.
- Monitor project costs incurred against budgets as well as key project parameters to maintain control over expenditures and profitability.
- Assist in preparing project-related reports based on shareholder guidelines while also preparing and monitoring project/company cash flow positions.
- Perform ad-hoc tasks as required by senior management or departmental needs.
