What you'll do:


As a Senior Finance Manager (Johor) based in Johor Bahru within this renowned multinational manufacturing environment, you will play an instrumental role in overseeing the full spectrum of finance operations. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve supervising accounting teams across general ledger management, audit coordination, tax planning and submission processes. You will ensure that all statutory reporting obligations are met promptly while maintaining rigorous internal controls aligned with SOX standards. In addition to managing year-end closings and liaising with external auditors or regulatory bodies such as MIDA for tax incentives, you will also collaborate on IT system validations to guarantee seamless data integration. * Supervise all general ledger accounting activities as well as audit and tax functions while leading the preparation of standardised financial statements for the organisation.
* Manage compliance with local, state, and Central Bank reporting requirements by coordinating timely submissions and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant regulations.
* Oversee tax estimates and submissions to the Inland Revenue Authority, ensuring all schedules are completed accurately and on time for review by tax agents in line with IRB requirements.
* Coordinate year-end closing processes and act as the primary liaison with external auditors for both quarterly and annual financial audits; manage communications with MIDA regarding tax incentives.
* Assist in monitoring ongoing compliance with all applicable laws and regulations affecting the business’s financial operations.
* Maintain comprehensive financial reporting systems by obtaining, recording, and managing all necessary data to ensure accurate monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports.
* Establish robust internal controls (including SOX compliance), oversee contract compliance procedures, approve journal entries, and safeguard financial security across all functions.
* Plan, direct, organise, and schedule specialised accounting activities while ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.
* Collaborate closely with IT teams to test systems integrations and validate information from various interfaces for accuracy in financial reporting.
* Prepare or supervise the creation of special statistical reports, surveys, CAPEX assessments, investment project analyses (including payback periods and ROI), as well as interpret operational data to explain trends against budgets or forecasts.

* A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related disciplines is required along with a recognised professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, CIMA or MICPA.
* At least seven years’ experience in similar finance roles within large organisations is essential; prior exposure to multinational environments is highly desirable.
* Demonstrated supervisory experience spanning three to five years managing accounting teams or functions effectively.
* Proficiency in ERP systems is expected; familiarity with SAP will be considered advantageous for this position.
* A background in manufacturing finance is strongly preferred due to the complexity of industry-specific regulations and reporting requirements.
* Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Standards (MFRS/MPERS/IFRS/USGAAP), Taxation principles (including Treasury activities), and SOX compliance protocols is vital.
* Advanced skills using Microsoft Excel for data analysis as well as proficiency in Word and PowerPoint for report preparation are necessary.
* Excellent analytical thinking combined with negotiation skills enables you to resolve complex issues efficiently while supporting business objectives.
