What you'll do:
As Finance Manager within this established retail and IT organisation in Bangsar, you will take on a broad remit covering all aspects of financial stewardship. Your day-to-day responsibilities will see you managing the full spectrum of financial reporting cycles from month-end close through to annual statement preparation. You will ensure strict adherence to MFRS standards while delivering clear insights through variance analysis. In addition to core accounting duties, you will play an integral role in Bursa Malaysia reporting—preparing key disclosures for quarterly announcements as well as supporting sustainability initiatives. Budgeting and forecasting will form a significant part of your remit; you will coordinate annual exercises while keeping a close eye on cash flow projections. Treasury management is another critical area where your skills will shine as you optimise working capital positions across the group. Tax compliance remains paramount; you will oversee all statutory submissions while staying abreast of regulatory changes. - Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes to ensure timely and accurate preparation of management accounts and consolidated financial statements.
- Prepare comprehensive quarterly financial reports and annual statements in line with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS), maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and integrity.
- Assist with all aspects of Bursa Malaysia reporting including quarterly announcements, annual reports, corporate governance disclosures, and sustainability-related financial information.
- Coordinate annual budget exercises while preparing periodic forecasts and cash flow projections to support effective business planning.
- Monitor business performance against budgets or forecasts by conducting detailed variance analysis and providing insightful recommendations to management.
- Manage treasury functions by monitoring cash flow positions, optimising working capital, managing banking arrangements, foreign exchange exposures, interest rate risks, and supporting dividend payment execution.
- Ensure full compliance with statutory requirements by overseeing timely submission of tax returns and filings related to corporate income tax, SST, withholding tax, and other relevant matters.
- Lead the coordination of annual statutory audits by liaising closely with external auditors and internal teams to address findings promptly and implement corrective actions.
- Support corporate finance activities including mergers and acquisitions due diligence exercises, investment evaluations, fundraising activities, ERP implementation projects, finance transformation initiatives, and preparation of Board presentations.
- Supervise accountants and finance executives by reviewing work quality standards while coaching team members for continuous improvement in processes and systems.

- Demonstrated expertise in group consolidation processes alongside hands-on experience with listed company reporting requirements including Bursa Malaysia submissions is essential.
- Your background includes preparing management accounts as well as consolidated financial statements under Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS).
- You have proven capability in budgeting exercises—coordinating annual plans while preparing periodic forecasts—and possess strong analytical skills for variance analysis.
- Experience managing treasury functions such as cash flow monitoring; banking relationships; working capital optimisation; foreign exchange; interest rate exposures; dividend planning is highly desirable.
- Comprehensive understanding of tax compliance including corporate income tax; SST; withholding tax; statutory filings; plus familiarity with evolving accounting standards/regulations is expected.
- You have successfully coordinated statutory audits—liaising effectively with both internal stakeholders (finance teams) & external parties (auditors/consultants).
- Exposure to corporate finance activities such as M&A support; due diligence; investment evaluation; fundraising; ERP implementation or finance transformation projects adds significant value.
- Your interpersonal skills enable you to supervise accountants/finance executives effectively—reviewing work quality while coaching team members towards continuous process improvement.
