What you'll do:
As an Assistant Finance Manager based in Petaling Jaya, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial health of entities across Malaysia and Singapore. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve managing comprehensive accounting functions from accounts payable through to cash flow management. You will be instrumental in ensuring all financial reporting deadlines are met while maintaining compliance with local standards. By preparing detailed management accounts and supporting schedules for various reporting purposes, you will support both internal decision-making and external regulatory requirements. Your ability to coordinate audits and filings with external parties will be crucial in maintaining the organisation’s reputation for transparency. - Manage the full set of accounts for Malaysia and Singapore entities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, fixed assets, and cash flow management to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes by coordinating with relevant teams to deliver timely financial reports.
- Prepare management accounts, financial statements, and supporting schedules for both internal and external reporting requirements.
- Ensure compliance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS), Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS), as well as statutory requirements by keeping up-to-date with regulatory changes.
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax agents, and regulatory bodies for audits and filings in both countries to maintain transparency and accountability.
- Review reconciliations, journal entries, and balance sheet schedules prepared by the finance team to ensure correctness before submission.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes by providing insightful data and recommendations to management.
- Monitor intercompany transactions between Malaysia and Singapore entities to ensure proper reconciliation and alignment of records.
- Improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting efficiency by identifying areas for enhancement within the finance function.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders across operations, HR, and commercial teams to provide financial insights tailored to their needs.
