A leading property development group in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Finance Manager or Assistant Finance Manager to oversee the full spectrum of finance operations. This is an exceptional opportunity for you to play a pivotal role in shaping financial strategy and governance within a respected organisation that values collaboration, professional growth, and continuous improvement. You will work closely with senior leadership, including the Chief Financial Officer, and be empowered to influence key decisions while nurturing a high-performing finance team. The company offers a supportive environment where your expertise will directly contribute to process enhancements and operational excellence, making this an ideal position for those who are passionate about finance within the property sector and eager to advance their career. * Work alongside the Chief Financial Officer and senior leaders, gaining exposure to strategic decision-making and organisational direction. * Take on a highly influential role with responsibility for end-to-end finance management, process improvements, and internal controls across a growing property group. * Enjoy significant opportunities for career progression and personal development within a collaborative and supportive workplace culture.

What you'll do:

As a Finance Manager or Assistant Finance Manager based in Kuala Lumpur, you will be entrusted with comprehensive oversight of finance operations within a prominent property developer. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve managing accounting processes from start to finish, reviewing critical financial documents for accuracy, supporting group-level reporting efforts, coordinating audits, overseeing tax compliance, assisting with treasury functions, guiding your team towards shared goals, strengthening internal controls, and driving ongoing improvements in efficiency. Success in this role requires not only technical proficiency but also a commitment to nurturing teamwork and upholding best practices in financial management. Your ability to collaborate with senior leadership while maintaining meticulous attention to detail will be instrumental in achieving both departmental objectives and wider organisational ambitions.

  • Oversee all aspects of finance and accounting operations, ensuring accurate month-end closing processes and timely financial reporting.
  • Review financial statements, ledgers, reconciliations, and supporting schedules to maintain the highest standards of accuracy and compliance.
  • Manage or support group-level management reporting activities, with consolidation experience considered an advantage for broader responsibilities.
  • Coordinate statutory audits by liaising effectively with both internal and external auditors to ensure smooth audit processes.
  • Supervise tax filings, tax planning initiatives, and ensure strict adherence to all regulatory requirements relevant to the property development industry.
  • Assist in treasury-related activities such as cash flow monitoring, banking matters, and loan processing when required by business needs.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and direction to the finance team while fostering a collaborative work culture that encourages knowledge sharing and professional growth.
  • Strengthen internal controls by developing robust standard operating procedures (SOPs) and enhancing financial governance frameworks throughout the organisation.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in process efficiency and reporting quality to drive operational excellence across all finance functions.

What you bring:

The ideal Finance Manager brings extensive experience from the property development industry along with a history of successfully managing or supporting finance teams. Your background may include time spent as an auditor focused on real estate clients or direct involvement in end-to-end finance operations within similar organisations. You possess strong analytical thinking capabilities that help you interpret complex data sets while your interpersonal skills make it easy for you to connect with colleagues at all levels. Your approach is grounded in dependability—others can rely on your thoroughness when it comes to compliance tasks or process reviews—and you are always looking for ways to enhance efficiency through thoughtful improvements. Above all else, your supportive leadership style ensures that everyone around you feels encouraged to share ideas and grow together.

  • Minimum 5–10 years of proven experience in finance or accounting roles within the property development industry is essential for success in this position.
  • Demonstrated track record of leading or managing a finance team or function with a focus on collaboration and shared achievement.
  • Experience working as an auditor with substantial exposure to the property development sector is welcomed as valuable background knowledge.
  • Strong analytical skills combined with effective problem-solving abilities enable you to address complex financial challenges thoughtfully.
  • Ability to work independently while remaining responsive to changing priorities in a dynamic work environment is highly valued.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills paired with clear communication abilities allow you to build trust across teams and stakeholders alike.
  • Leadership qualities that inspire others while promoting process improvements are crucial for fostering positive change within the department.
  • A commitment to upholding rigorous internal controls and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement sets you apart as an ideal candidate.
