What you'll do:

As a Senior Finance Manager based in Johor Bahru - Senai, you will play an integral role in guiding the financial health of the organisation through expert oversight of accounting operations. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve managing complex financial reporting cycles, ensuring regulatory compliance at every level, and leading a dedicated team towards achieving excellence in all aspects of finance.   • Oversee the daily operations of accounting functions including general ledger management, audit processes, tax compliance, and preparation of standardised financial statements.
  • Coordinate timely preparation and submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports while ensuring accuracy and adherence to internal deadlines.
  • Supervise tax estimates and submissions to relevant authorities, ensuring all schedules are completed accurately and on time for compliance with local regulations.
  • Manage year-end closing activities and act as the primary liaison with external auditors during quarterly and annual audits as well as with government agencies regarding tax incentives.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with all applicable laws and regulations by monitoring internal controls such as SOX compliance, contract adherence, and journal entry approvals.
  • Plan, organise, direct, and schedule specialised accounting functions to optimise efficiency within the finance team.
  • Coordinate IT system testing related to finance operations and validate data integrity from various interfaces to ensure reliable reporting.
  • Prepare or oversee the creation of special statistical reports, capital expenditure assessments, financial analyses, and investment project evaluations including payback periods and return on investment calculations.
  • Analyse operational and accounting data to explain variances against previous periods, budgets, and forecasts while providing actionable insights to senior management.
  • Handle ad-hoc projects or assignments as required by senior leadership to support strategic business objectives.

  • Demonstrated supervisory experience of three to five years is necessary for leading teams within fast-moving environments.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems—particularly SAP—is highly advantageous for streamlining financial processes across departments.
  • Experience working within multinational companies is required due to the global nature of operations and cross-border reporting requirements.
  • A background in manufacturing finance is strongly preferred given the industry focus of this role.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of accounting standards (MFRS/MPERS/IFRS/USGAAP), tax regulations, treasury activities, and SOX compliance is vital for maintaining high standards of governance.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint are essential for preparing detailed reports and presentations for senior management.
  • Excellent analytical abilities combined with negotiation skills enable you to resolve complex issues efficiently while supporting business objectives.
