What you'll do:
As an Assistant Finance Manager based in Kuala Lumpur, you will play a vital role in supporting the finance function of a prominent conglomerate. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve preparing comprehensive accounts and management reports while handling routine accounting tasks such as payables, receivables, petty cash management, cash flow monitoring, and staff claims. You will ensure all financial postings are accurate and compliant with company policies. Maintaining meticulous records—including bank reconciliations—will be essential for transparency. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to gather information, resolve issues promptly, and provide finance-related assistance throughout the business. Liaising with external auditors during annual audits as well as engaging tax agents and bankers will form part of your remit. Flexibility is key during month-end or year-end closings when extended hours may be needed. Your contribution will help uphold dependable financial stewardship while fostering communal teamwork within the department.
- Assist in preparing full sets of accounts and monthly management reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Handle daily accounting activities including accounts payable and receivable, petty cash management, cash flow monitoring, and staff claims or commission payments.
- Ensure accurate posting of journal vouchers, payments, and receipts in the accounting system by following established procedures.
- Maintain proper accounting records such as bank reconciliations and document control to support financial transparency.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to obtain necessary information, resolve discrepancies efficiently, and provide finance-related support across departments.
- Liaise with external auditors during annual audits as well as tax agents, bankers, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure smooth audit processes.
- Perform other ad hoc duties as assigned by your immediate superior to contribute to the overall success of the finance department.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities by being flexible with working hours when required.
- Contribute to maintaining a dependable financial stewardship within the organisation by upholding high standards of accuracy and integrity.
- Participate in communal efforts to improve processes and share knowledge within the finance team.
