Finance Manager (Klang)

Save job

A leading organisation in Klang is seeking a Finance Manager with audit experience and exposure to AI/automation tools. You will support the CFO across the deal cycle, leveraging technology to improve financial analysis, integration, and reporting. The role offers high-impact project exposure, cross-functional collaboration, and involvement in strategic decision-making.

  • Lead comprehensive financial due diligence on potential acquisitions, joint ventures, and divestments, covering all aspects from earnings quality to off-balance sheet arrangements.
  • Identify and quantify critical deal issues such as revenue sustainability, cost normalisations, related party transactions, and contingent liabilities to inform negotiation strategies.
  • Prepare clear and concise due diligence reports for the CFO, Board Investment Committee, and external advisors, highlighting key findings and recommended deal adjustments including price, escrow, or indemnities.
  • Coordinate effectively with external legal, tax, and commercial due diligence providers to ensure thorough risk assessment across all transaction dimensions.
  • Apply AI-powered document intelligence tools (such as ChatGPT or Copilot) to extract key financial terms from target company documents, invoices, or contracts efficiently.
  • Utilise basic data analytics in Excel or Python scripts to detect anomalies in large volumes of transactional data such as duplicate payments or unusual journal entries.
  • Automate routine financial data collection from target ERP systems using RPA or low-code tools like Power Automate to reduce manual effort and improve accuracy.
  • Build and review financial models for M&A activities including three-statement models, DCF analyses, accretion/dilution calculations, and ROI assessments using Excel and AI-assisted plugins.
  • Support the CFO in structuring transactions and assessing funding options while assisting with purchase price allocation under MFRS 3 during post-acquisition phases.
  • Work collaboratively with the finance team to integrate acquired entities’ financial systems, harmonise accounting policies through automation tools, and ensure accurate group reporting in compliance with regulatory requirements.

What you bring:

To excel as a Finance Manager in this forward-thinking organisation based in Klang, you will bring proven experience managing end-to-end financial due diligence processes within mergers and acquisitions environments. Your educational background—ideally supported by professional qualifications—will underpin your technical competence across all areas of finance. Experience gained from an audit environment is preferred.

  • Professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, CPA, MICPA or a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required for this position.
  • At least 5–8 years of relevant finance experience including 1–2 years in a managerial capacity is essential for success in this role.
  • An audit background is highly advantageous as it supports rigorous assessment of internal controls during due diligence processes.
  • Demonstrated expertise in conducting financial due diligence for mergers and acquisitions including identification of critical deal issues is necessary.
  • Proficiency in building complex financial models (three-statement models, DCFs) using Excel along with familiarity with AI-assisted modelling plugins is expected.
  • Experience applying AI-powered document intelligence tools (e.g., ChatGPT or Copilot) for extracting key information from contracts or invoices is beneficial.
  • Ability to use basic data analytics techniques (Excel Power Query or Python scripts) for anomaly detection within large datasets enhances workflow efficiency.
  • Familiarity with automating routine data collection tasks via RPA or low-code platforms such as Power Automate adds value to the team’s operations.
  • Knowledge of integration processes post-acquisition including harmonisation of accounting policies under MFRS 3 is important for seamless transitions.
  • Strong communication skills are vital for preparing reports for senior stakeholders and collaborating effectively with external advisors.
