What you'll do:


As Assistant General Manager, Investment based in Kuala Lumpur for this prestigious public-listed conglomerate, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the company’s investment strategy. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve conducting detailed evaluations of business proposals through rigorous feasibility studies and due diligence exercises. You will be instrumental in formulating corporate schemes that drive growth while preparing essential documentation for board meetings and shareholder communications. By advising on regulatory compliance matters and reviewing disclosures across various materials, you will help maintain the highest standards of integrity. Liaising with professional parties such as auditors or government authorities will be key to ensuring seamless execution of investment projects. * Conduct thorough evaluation and review of business options and proposals by performing feasibility studies, due diligence exercises, financial restructuring analyses, and developing robust financial models and projections.
* Formulate comprehensive schemes for corporate proposals while preparing all necessary documentation including board papers, announcements, press releases, circulars to shareholders, ensuring clarity and accuracy throughout.
* Identify issues related to corporate proposals proactively and provide well-considered solutions or recommendations to resolve them efficiently.
* Advise management on regulatory compliance matters as well as disclosure requirements to ensure all activities adhere strictly to relevant laws and guidelines.
* Check compliance standards meticulously by reviewing disclosures and documentation in presentation materials, legal documents, circulars, prospectuses, press documents, and applications submitted to authorities.
* Liaise effectively with relevant professional parties such as auditors, legal advisors, consultants, and government authorities to facilitate smooth execution of investment initiatives.
* Support the Director by providing insightful analysis on market trends and capital markets developments that impact the organisation’s investment strategies.
* Collaborate closely with internal teams across various business units to ensure alignment of investment objectives with overall corporate goals.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of securities law and guidelines issued by regulatory bodies to safeguard the company’s interests during all investment activities.
* Contribute actively to the preparation of shareholder communications by drafting clear and informative materials that foster trust and transparency.


What you bring:


To excel as Assistant General Manager, Investment at this leading conglomerate in Kuala Lumpur, you will bring substantial experience gained from at least ten years in finance roles—four of which should be dedicated to corporate finance within merchant or investment banking settings. Your academic background must include either a degree in Finance, Accountancy or Economics or a recognised professional qualification such as ACCA, MICPA or CFA. You will possess deep knowledge of capital markets regulations alongside proven skills in structuring complex investment proposals. Your interpersonal strengths will enable you to collaborate effectively across teams while your communication abilities ensure clarity when engaging stakeholders at all levels. Adaptability is crucial given the dynamic nature of the industry; your motivation will help you thrive even when faced with demanding challenges. Experience managing financial restructuring projects or due diligence exercises will demonstrate your dependability. * Comprehensive knowledge of capital markets coupled with familiarity with securities law and guidelines issued by relevant authorities is expected.
* Excellent writing skills combined with strong research abilities are needed to structure effective investment proposals and corporate finance documentation.
* Outstanding interpersonal skills are vital for building collaborative relationships both internally across teams and externally with professional parties.
* Exceptional communication skills are required for drafting clear shareholder materials as well as liaising confidently with senior stakeholders.
