What you'll do:

  • Ensure all accounting transactions are processed accurately and within set timelines, maintaining the highest standards of precision in every task undertaken.
  • Issue invoices promptly, prepare comprehensive collection reports, and collaborate closely with business teams to address any unpaid or overdue invoices efficiently.
  • Perform detailed reconciliations by coordinating with relevant parties to investigate discrepancies and resolve issues swiftly.
  • Support bank reconciliation activities by diligently tracking all costs and expenses to ensure complete financial oversight.
  • Work collaboratively with Business/Operations units, headquarters finance, and the Finance Operations team to establish effective process flows and deliver accurate financial information and reports.
  • Review the completeness and accuracy of all financial data and reports before submission to ensure reliability for decision-making purposes.
  • Assist in month-end closing activities by preparing meaningful financial disclosures that meet internal standards of quality.
  • Adhere strictly to accounting standards, tax regulations, company policies, and procedures at all times while carrying out daily responsibilities.
  • Liaise professionally with auditors, tax agents, and company secretaries on matters related to audits and statutory compliance submissions for Malaysia entities.
  • Lead and manage small teams effectively while providing efficient support for day-to-day office administration tasks.

What you bring:

  • Possess at least a Bachelor's Degree or professional qualification in Finance, Accountancy, Banking or an equivalent field which demonstrates your solid academic foundation.
  • Bring a minimum of five years’ experience working within accounting or auditing environments where you have developed robust technical knowledge.
  • Demonstrate a positive work attitude by offering assistance readily and making thoughtful suggestions for ongoing improvements within the team.
  • Show adaptability by working independently when required while maintaining a dependable approach under minimal supervision.
  • Exhibit meticulous attention to detail alongside logical thinking skills that enable you to deliver consistent results even under pressure.
  • Display proficiency in Microsoft applications—especially MS Excel—to analyse data effectively and support reporting needs across multiple projects.
  • Manage time efficiently by keeping control over current responsibilities while meeting deadlines without compromising on quality.
  • Resolve account discrepancies independently through careful reconciliation processes that maintain integrity across all records handled.
  • Experience or exposure in inventory control would be considered an added advantage for this position as it broadens your understanding of operational finance functions.
  • Familiarity with Oracle or SAP accounting systems is highly desirable as it supports seamless integration into existing workflows; fluency in English (both written and spoken) is essential while additional language skills are advantageous.
