Senior Executive, Accounts Payable Salary: Competitive and based on experience Location: Kuala Lumpur

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Executive, Accounts Payable to join a reputable organisation based in Kuala Lumpur. This permanent, onsite role offers you the chance to play a pivotal part in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial transactions while working closely with various business teams. The company is committed to fostering a supportive and collaborative environment where your expertise will be valued and your professional growth encouraged. You will benefit from exposure to a wide range of accounting functions, including statutory compliance, audit processes, and process improvements, all within a dynamic finance team that values knowledge sharing and continuous development. If you are looking for a role that combines responsibility, teamwork, and the chance to make meaningful contributions to financial operations, this could be the perfect next step in your career.

What you'll do:

  • Ensure all accounting transactions are processed promptly and accurately, maintaining high standards of precision across all payable activities.
  • Issue invoices on time, prepare detailed collection reports, and work collaboratively with business teams to address any unpaid or overdue invoices.
  • Perform thorough reconciliations by coordinating with relevant parties to investigate discrepancies and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Support bank reconciliation processes by diligently tracking all costs and expenses to ensure accurate financial records.
  • Collaborate closely with Business/Operations teams, headquarters finance, and Finance Operations to establish effective process flows and deliver comprehensive financial information and reports.
  • Check the completeness and accuracy of all financial data and reports before submission to ensure reliability for decision-making purposes.
  • Assist in month-end closing activities by preparing high-quality financial disclosures that provide meaningful insights into the company’s performance.
  • Adhere strictly to accounting standards, tax requirements, company policies, and procedures at all times to maintain compliance across all activities.
  • Liaise effectively with auditors, tax agents, and company secretaries on matters related to audits, tax filings, and statutory submissions for Malaysia entities.
  • Lead and manage small teams by providing guidance, support, and efficient oversight of day-to-day office administration tasks.

What you bring:

  • Possess at least a Bachelor's Degree or professional qualification in Finance, Accountancy or Banking (or equivalent), demonstrating solid academic grounding in core accounting principles.
  • Bring a minimum of five years’ experience working within accounting or auditing environments where you have developed robust technical skills relevant to accounts payable functions.
  • Display a positive work attitude characterised by willingness to offer assistance proactively while suggesting constructive improvements for operational efficiency.
  • Demonstrate adaptability by working independently when required yet remaining highly responsive within team settings; maintain a consistently good attitude even under pressure.
  • Exhibit exceptional attention to detail alongside logical thinking skills that enable you to produce consistent results with high levels of accuracy across complex tasks.
  • Show proficiency in Microsoft applications—especially MS Excel—enabling you to analyse data effectively while managing multiple projects or responsibilities autonomously.
  • Prove your ability to reconcile accounts independently by identifying discrepancies quickly then resolving them using sound judgement; prior exposure to inventory control is considered advantageous but not essential.
  • Have hands-on experience using Oracle or SAP accounting systems which allows seamless integration into existing workflows without extensive retraining needs.
  • Communicate fluently in English (both written and spoken); additional language skills are welcomed as they enhance collaboration within diverse teams.
