What you'll do:
- Ensure all accounting transactions related to accounts receivable are processed promptly and with exceptional accuracy, maintaining up-to-date records at all times.
- Issue invoices in a timely manner, prepare comprehensive collection reports, and work collaboratively with business teams to address unpaid or overdue invoices.
- Perform detailed reconciliations of accounts, coordinating with relevant parties to investigate discrepancies and resolve any outstanding issues efficiently.
- Support bank reconciliation activities by diligently tracking all costs and expenses associated with accounts receivable functions.
- Work closely with business operations, headquarters finance, and finance operations teams to establish effective process flows and deliver accurate financial information and reports.
- Review the completeness and accuracy of all financial data and reports before submission, ensuring they meet internal quality standards.
- Assist in month-end closing activities by preparing meaningful financial disclosures that provide valuable insights for management decision-making.
- Adhere strictly to accounting standards, tax regulations, company policies, and procedures throughout all aspects of your work.
- Liaise professionally with auditors, tax agents, and company secretaries on matters related to statutory audits and compliance submissions for Malaysian entities.
- Lead and support small teams by providing guidance on day-to-day office administration tasks as well as annual statutory audit processes.
What you bring:
- Possess at least a Bachelor's Degree or professional qualification in Finance, Accountancy, Banking or an equivalent field which demonstrates your foundational knowledge of accounting principles.
- Bring a minimum of five years’ experience working within accounting or auditing environments where you have developed strong technical skills relevant to accounts receivable functions.
- Demonstrate a positive work attitude by offering assistance readily and making thoughtful suggestions for process improvements that benefit the wider team.
- Show adaptability by working effectively both independently and as part of a team while maintaining a consistently good attitude under pressure.
- Exhibit meticulous attention to detail along with the ability to approach tasks logically, consistently, and accurately even when handling complex reconciliations or large volumes of data.
- Display proficiency in Microsoft applications—especially Excel—which enables you to analyse data efficiently and produce high-quality reports for management review.
- Manage your own time effectively by working with minimal supervision while keeping control over multiple projects or responsibilities simultaneously.
- Resolve account discrepancies independently through careful investigation and reconciliation techniques that minimise errors or delays.
- Experience in inventory control processes would be considered an added advantage as it broadens your understanding of integrated finance operations.
- Familiarity with Oracle or SAP accounting systems is highly desirable as it supports seamless integration into existing workflows; fluency in English (both written and spoken) is essential while additional language skills are advantageous.
