QA Automation Lead (Wealth Management)

What you'll do:

As a Quality Assurance Lead based in Kuala Lumpur, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of software quality across digital banking platforms. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, participating in agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups and retrospective meetings, and engaging directly with stakeholders to clarify requirements. You will be responsible for developing robust automation scripts following successful manual testing, executing comprehensive functional and technical tests, and maintaining meticulous records of defects using industry-standard tools. Your ability to communicate effectively across diverse audiences will be essential as you coordinate resources across different locations. • Engage proactively in pre-testing activities to identify potential issues within requirements, design specifications, application architecture, and product documentation.
• Participate daily in stand-up meetings to keep the squad informed of your progress and collaborate on task activities.
• Contribute actively during user story grooming sessions with Product Owners by providing accurate estimations for testing efforts.
• Develop automation test scripts based on successfully executed manual test cases to enhance efficiency and reliability.
• Execute functional and technical tests using both manual and automated methods as required by project engagements.
• Maintain constant communication with stakeholders throughout test planning and execution phases to ensure alignment and transparency.
• Log software application defects in Azure DevOps Work Items and diligently track them through to closure.
• Report and update test status promptly and accurately for all relevant parties involved in the project lifecycle.
• Apply established test processes within the testing team or adhere to standards defined by the project or organisation.
• Comply fully with software quality management practices and policies while fostering a cohesive and positive working environment within the project team.

What you bring:

Your proven expertise as a Quality Assurance Lead will be instrumental in driving success within this technology-focused organisation. You bring deep knowledge of software development lifecycles coupled with hands-on experience in both manual and automated testing frameworks such as Selenium Java with Cucumber or other BDD tools. Your familiarity with Java applications running web services—especially REST APIs—and Oracle databases ensures you can tackle complex integration challenges confidently. Experience testing mobile applications across iOS and Android platforms is essential for this position. Your outstanding interpersonal abilities enable you to build trustful relationships with stakeholders at all levels while communicating technical concepts clearly. You are adept at managing multiple priorities simultaneously without compromising attention to detail or quality outcomes. With a strong academic background supported by relevant certifications like ISTQB (if available), you demonstrate commitment not only to your own growth but also to nurturing capability development within your team.

• Demonstrated enthusiasm for quality assurance combined with substantial experience in software delivery, solution design, and stakeholder management.
• Comprehensive understanding of Agile delivery methodologies with a methodical approach to planning, execution, and reporting.
• Ability to perform both manual and automation testing efficiently across web services (REST/SOAP) Java applications integrated with Oracle databases.
• Experience in mobile application testing on iOS and Android platforms is required for this role.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills enabling effective communication across diverse audiences while influencing cross-functionally.
• Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear language for non-technical stakeholders.
• Capacity for multitasking alongside strategic thinking within fast-paced environments requiring creativity and adaptability.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team setting, demonstrating dependability at every stage.
• Track record of completing goals/projects on time while delivering high-quality results consistently.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, information technology or related field (or equivalent experience); ISTQB certification is advantageous.
