What you'll do: As a Solution Architect, you will immerse yourself in both strategic planning and hands-on execution as you lead the design of complex IT solutions. • Provide subject matter expertise in information technology and architecture by offering guidance on best practices and emerging trends relevant to the organisation’s needs.
• Define and review the current state of architecture, then develop comprehensive plans for transitioning to a future state that aligns with both business goals and IT standards.
• Restructure organisational goals and direction as needed, ensuring that all initiatives are strategically aligned with long-term objectives.
• Develop detailed roadmaps for evolving the enterprise application portfolio from its current configuration to an optimised future state, supporting business transformation.
• Drive key initiatives related to application development, security enhancements, and infrastructure improvements by leveraging your deep understanding of Azure cloud technologies and DevSecOps principles.
• Collaborate extensively with stakeholders across business groups and vendor partners to ensure solution decisions are fully aligned with the enterprise’s vision for future state architecture.
• Simplify the IT landscape by reducing complexity and diversity of solutions, thereby increasing efficiency and scalability throughout the organisation.
• Work closely with the Enterprise Architecture team to direct governance activities, ensuring adherence to established principles, guidelines, standards, and patterns.
• Maintain up-to-date policy documentation and introduce new standards as required to meet compliance requirements across all projects.
• Mentor and coach team members by providing guidance, support, and regular knowledge sharing sessions aimed at fostering staff development and engagement.

What you bring: To excel as a Solution Architect Software in this transformative environment, you will bring extensive experience managing large-scale software architecture projects within complex organisations. Your technical toolkit includes familiarity with .Net/Java frameworks, object-oriented design concepts, RESTful API implementation, microservices development, database management (SQL/ORM), as well as advanced use of Microsoft Office tools like JIRA and Confluence.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering or equivalent experience is essential for this role.
• At least 10 years’ experience in Project Management specialising in Software Architecture Design, Implementation, and Development IT Projects is required.
• Familiarity with waterfall, agile, lean methodologies as well as DevSecOps-focused environments is necessary for effective performance.
• Experience working on consulting banking projects or within financial investment or market capital sectors would be highly advantageous.
• Knowledge of popular .Net or Java frameworks is desirable along with proficiency in object-oriented design (OOD) principles.
• Hands-on experience developing applications using Java is considered beneficial for this position.
• Proficiency in implementing REST APIs as well as test-driven development practices including unit/system testing is preferred but not mandatory.
• Experience working with relational databases such as SQL alongside ORM technologies adds further value to your profile.
• Demonstrated ability to develop microservices architectures is seen as an asset for this role.
• Excellent communication skills combined with strong interpersonal abilities are vital; analytical thinking coupled with problem-solving aptitude is also expected.
