Solution Architect (Software)

This company is seeking a Solution Architect to lead the overall architecture and design of a complex solution as part of their massive technology transformation. This role will require you to understand the existing application landscape and create a transformation strategy. You will be directly involved in project execution, providing project technology advisory and architecture design.

What you'll do: As a Solution Architect, your role will be pivotal in shaping the technological future of our client's organisation. You will provide expert knowledge in information technology and architecture, defining the current state of architecture while developing plans for its future. Your ability to restructure and refine organisational goals from an architectural perspective will be key to your success.

• Provide subject matter expertise in information technology and architecture
• Define and review the current state of architecture and develop a plan for the future state architecture design
• Restructure and continually refine organizational goals and direction from an architectural perspective
• Develop a roadmap for the evolution of the enterprise application portfolio from the current state to the future state, aligned with business and IT strategies
• Drive application development, security, and infrastructure initiatives from an architectural standpoint
• Foster positive feedback from stakeholders
• Ensure solution designs and proposals are aligned with the enterprise's future state architecture vision
• Develop strategic relationships with Business groups and vendor partners

What you bring: The ideal candidate for this Solution Architect position brings a wealth of experience in project management, specifically within software architecture design, implementation, and IT project development. A degree in IT Engineering or a related field is essential. With at least 10 years' experience under your belt, you have honed your skills in managing projects that specialise in software architecture design.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering or equivalent experience, and familiarity with waterfall, agile, lean, and DevSecOps-focused environments.
• 10 years' experience in Project Management specialising in Software Architecture Design and Implementation and Development IT Project
• Preferred consulting banking project or financial investment and market capital background.
• Knowledge of popular Java frameworks, as well as experience with OOD and developing applications using Java is good to have. Proficiency in implementing REST APIs, test-driven development, and performing unit and system testing of application code is good to have.
• Experience with relational databases, SQL, and ORM technologies (JPA2, Hibernate), along with developing microservices using Spring is good to have.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, and logical skills, with an ability to work independently and advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office, JIRA, and Confluence.
