What you'll do:

  • Lead and oversee multiple strategic programmes and complex projects from initiation through to delivery, ensuring each initiative achieves its intended business value.
  • Establish robust programme governance frameworks, processes, and standards that support consistent project management practices across the organisation.
  • Align all programmes with the organisation’s strategic priorities by collaborating closely with senior stakeholders from both business and technology functions.
  • Provide direction, mentorship, and support to Programme Managers, Project Managers, and delivery teams to foster a collaborative environment focused on shared success.
  • Monitor progress against milestones, budgets, resources, risks, issues, and dependencies to ensure timely delivery and optimal use of organisational assets.
  • Identify potential challenges or blockers early in the process and work proactively with relevant stakeholders to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Partner with senior leaders to facilitate effective decision-making processes that keep programmes aligned with evolving business needs.
  • Drive prioritisation efforts across the programme portfolio to ensure resources are allocated where they can have the greatest impact.
  • Deliver regular portfolio-level reporting and insights to senior management and governance committees for informed oversight.
  • Promote continuous improvement in programme delivery by encouraging adoption of Agile and hybrid methodologies where appropriate.

What you bring:

To excel as Head of Programme Management in Kuala Lumpur you will bring extensive experience leading large-scale programmes within complex organisations. Your background should include proven success implementing governance frameworks that support consistent project delivery while adapting approaches for different methodologies such as Agile or Waterfall. You will demonstrate strong commercial acumen when managing budgets or allocating resources across multiple initiatives. Your interpersonal skills will be vital for building trust among stakeholders at all levels—from executive committees through to delivery teams—ensuring everyone feels supported throughout the project lifecycle.   • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Project Management or related discipline is required for this position.
  • Over ten years’ experience in programme management or PMO leadership roles within large-scale or enterprise-wide environments is essential.
  • Proven track record managing complex portfolios involving digital transformation or business transformation initiatives.
  • Strong expertise in programme governance frameworks, portfolio management techniques, delivery planning strategies, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Deep understanding of Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid methodologies for project delivery across diverse organisational contexts.
  • Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple programmes simultaneously while balancing competing priorities and resources effectively.
  • Commercial awareness including experience managing budgets, resource planning activities, and financial aspects of programme delivery.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills encompassing communication abilities for presenting updates at senior levels as well as influencing outcomes among cross-functional teams.
  • Comfortable using PMO or programme management tools along with reporting platforms for tracking progress and sharing insights.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, Agile or Scrum are highly advantageous but not mandatory.
