What you'll do:

As Delivery Manager – Core Banking based in Kuala Lumpur, you will be entrusted with overseeing the end-to-end delivery of critical banking technology projects while managing day-to-day operations across an international network. Your role will involve close engagement with regional stakeholders to understand their unique requirements and ensure all activities comply with local regulations. You will be responsible for preparing detailed reports for senior leaders that provide transparency on project progress and highlight any potential risks or areas requiring attention. In addition to driving operational efficiency through process enhancements and automation efforts, you will also play an integral part in mentoring cross-functional teams—encouraging knowledge sharing and nurturing a supportive environment focused on continuous improvement. By acting as the central point of contact between internal teams and external partners, you will help maintain clear communication channels that are essential for achieving shared objectives. Your ability to manage transitions from project completion into BAU operations will be crucial in sustaining long-term service excellence.

  • Lead the planning, implementation, and monitoring of international IT projects to ensure they align with organisational strategic objectives.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, resources, and risk mitigation strategies to guarantee successful delivery within agreed parameters.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders across various regions to capture project requirements and ensure compliance with local regulations.
  • Prepare comprehensive status reports for senior leadership, highlighting progress, risks, and recommended action plans.
  • Oversee daily operations across international sites to ensure service level agreements (SLAs) and operational key performance indicators (KPIs) are consistently achieved.
  • Monitor performance metrics, troubleshoot operational issues as they arise, and implement corrective actions to maintain high service standards.
  • Drive operational efficiency by championing process improvements, automation initiatives, and cost management strategies.
  • Ensure smooth transitions of completed projects into business-as-usual (BAU) operations for sustained performance.
  • Mentor cross-functional teams by fostering collaboration and promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Act as a liaison between global IT teams, local offices, third-party vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure clear communication and alignment of project goals.

What you bring:

To excel as Delivery Manager – Core Banking you will bring substantial experience in steering large-scale technology projects within an international context—ideally gained in the banking or financial services industry. Your background should include hands-on involvement with core banking systems alongside deep familiarity with IT infrastructure best practices. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional interpersonal skills that allow you to build trust-based relationships across cultures while guiding diverse teams towards common goals. Your approach should reflect empathy for stakeholder needs coupled with an analytical mindset capable of identifying root causes behind operational challenges. Experience negotiating contracts with vendors—and holding them accountable for agreed deliverables—will be vital. Additionally, your flexibility regarding travel demonstrates your commitment to supporting colleagues wherever they are located. Professional certifications such as PMP or ITIL further enhance your suitability for this multifaceted role.

  • A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field is required for this position.
  • Proven experience managing international IT projects as well as business-as-usual operations within the banking or financial services sector is highly desirable.
  • Comprehensive understanding of core banking applications, IT infrastructure design, architecture principles, and international banking regulations is essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously across different time zones while maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Experience in vendor management including contract negotiation, performance monitoring, and ensuring third-party compliance with service standards is important.
  • Excellent communication skills combined with strong leadership abilities that enable you to manage cross-cultural teams effectively and influence senior stakeholders positively.
  • A track record of effective problem-solving skills including risk management expertise and operational troubleshooting capabilities is required.
  • Preferred qualifications such as PMP or ITIL certification would be advantageous but are not mandatory.
