Regional PMO Analyst

We seek a detail-oriented PMO Analyst with strong skills in project financial analysis, including revenue tracking, cost control, and margin analysis. The role involves working with regional and global stakeholders to drive financial transparency, assess performance, and support corrective actions. The analyst will also lead annual budgeting and planning cycles and support best practice implementation in project management disciplines.

Job Description

Financial Analysis & Reporting

• Analyze project financials, including revenue recognition, cost tracking, and gross margin analysis across a diverse project portfolio.

• Produce accurate and timely financial reports for PMO and senior leadership, with variance analysis and actionable insights.

• Monitor financial KPIs, highlighting risks or deviations from budget/forecast, and proposing corrective actions.

Regional Financial Oversight

• Collaborate with regional PMO and finance teams to assess their financial health at both the project and portfolio levels.

• Track and manage regional financial performance, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and PMO standards.

• Facilitate discussions with regional leads to understand performance gaps and support development and tracking of improvement plans.

Budgeting & Forecasting

• Lead the annual project budgeting cycle, coordinating inputs from regional stakeholders and aligning with corporate finance requirements.

• Support quarterly forecast updates and long-range planning by providing financial insights at project, regional, and global levels.

• Develop and maintain financial models to support planning and scenario analysis.

Project Portfolio Management Support

• Support project managers with financial planning and reporting tools to improve budget control and cost estimation accuracy.

• Ensure projects comply with governance standards and financial controls, including capital vs. expense classification, accruals, and revenue recognition.

• Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities in financial monitoring and reporting.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Build strong working relationships with regional and global teams, including Finance, PMO, and Project Delivery leads.

• Present findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executive leadership.

• Act as a finance liaison between the PMO and Corporate Finance/Controlling teams.

Project Management Practice

• Contribute to the evolution of project management practices, templates, and methodologies within the PMO.

• Provide training or guidance to regional project managers on financial best practices and tools.

• Support governance meetings, business case reviews, and post-project financial assessments.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field; MBA or equivalent is a plus.

• PMP, PRINCE2, or similar project management certification is advantageous.

• Advanced Excel skills required; experience with financial planning tools and reporting dashboards (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is preferred.

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in a financial or PMO analyst role, preferably in a multinational or matrixed organization.

• Proven experience in project financial analysis – revenue, cost, margin tracking, and budgeting cycles.

• Experience working with regional and global teams, including cross-border collaboration and remote stakeholder management.

• Strong knowledge of project delivery models and PMO governance standards.

• High attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable working with senior stakeholders.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

• Self-motivated and proactive, with a continuous improvement mindset.

• Strong business acumen and understanding of project lifecycles, contracts, and financial impacts.

• Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and project financial tracking systems.

• Experience in IT, consulting, or professional services industry preferred.

• Experience managing change and implementing process improvements in complex environments.
