Contract Manager | 1 Year Contract | Kuala Lumpur

A leading organisation in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Contract Manager to join its Group IT Management Office, managing complex IT contracts and vendor relationships across Asia Pacific. What you'll do:

• Implement new IT contracts, orders, and statements of work between shared services entities and third-party vendors by following established guidelines and policies.
• Renew existing IT contracts, orders, and statements of work efficiently while maintaining accuracy and completeness throughout the process.
• Drive contractual and commercial outcomes during engagements with third-party vendors, including achieving cost savings and enhancing contract maturity.
• Ensure all IT contracts adhere to high standards as defined by internal playbooks and similar existing clauses, maintaining consistency across agreements.
• Identify and minimise risks within IT contracts by reducing onerous obligations imposed by third-party vendors on the organisation.
• Maximise flexibility within IT contracts so that technology usage rights are broad with limited licensing restrictions.
• Allocate risk appropriately between the organisation and third-party vendors to protect organisational interests.
• Communicate effectively with vendors during negotiation and contracting processes, ensuring clarity and mutual understanding.
• Collaborate closely with various technical IT stakeholders involved in preparing operational content for inclusion in contracts, orders, and statements of work.
• Manage communications with key stakeholders and business units while advising them on contract status, questions, and clause interpretations.

What you bring:

• A university degree in a relevant discipline is required for this position.
• You bring at least 8-10 years of experience in vendor management, contract management or procurement functions within large organisations.
• Your background includes extensive experience handling contracts and master agreements related to IT services.
• You have proven expertise in negotiating terms with third-party vendors to achieve favourable outcomes for your employer.
• Experience drafting statements of work as well as reviewing quotes/orders is essential for success in this role.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills enable you to interact effectively with both internal teams and external partners.
• Excellent interpersonal abilities allow you to build trust-based relationships across departments and business units.
• You are detail-oriented with a project delivery focus that ensures timely renewal of contracts without compromising quality or compliance.
• Ability to thrive in dynamic environments where cross-functional collaboration is key to achieving objectives.
• Familiarity with internal policies such as contract management guidelines or contracting playbooks is highly desirable.
