IT Manager (Pioneer Set Up)

This global organization is seeking an experienced leader for its new IT Operations Centre in Malaysia. This role involves managing IT services for all BUs & factories across Asia while supporting global IT. The ideal candidate will ensure customer-oriented delivery of global IT services, manage local projects and oversee external providers. Good English is required for Europe stakeholders’ communication and basic Mandarin is required for supporting Greater China.

What you'll do:

• Lead and manage a team of up to 10 employees within a matrix organization.
• Oversee IT services for the group entities across Asia and act as deputy for the IT Manager in Greater China.
• Ensure alignment between local business needs and global IT standards/strategies.
• Manage relationships with internal customers and external IT providers.
• Plan, control, and manage the regional IT budget.
• Coordinate local/regional IT projects and support global initiatives.
• Maintain stable IT services and user support per global SLAs.
• Ensure compliance with legal, security, and company-specific requirements.

What you bring:

• Degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Engineering, or related fields.
• 3–5 years of experience managing IT teams within an international organization.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with senior leadership experience.
• Expertise in IT service delivery, provider management, and project execution.
• Knowledge of global IT infrastructure, enterprise applications, and business processes.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes; industrial manufacturing industry experience is a plus.
• Fluency in English and Chinese is required; Japanese or other languages are advantageous.
• Open to active regional travelling on an ad-hoc basis.
