Infrastructure Engineer (IBM i /AS400)

Key Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and support IBM i (AS/400) systems to ensure high availability and performance.
• Manage system capacity planning, performance tuning, and operational stability.
• Support enterprise storage environments, including storage replication and disaster recovery solutions.
• Perform system monitoring, incident resolution, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
• Manage and implement infrastructure changes following established change management processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support infrastructure integration and modernization initiatives.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge repositories.
• Participate in infrastructure enhancement projects, system upgrades, and technology refresh initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with operational standards, governance requirements, and industry best practices.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 4 years of experience administering IBM i / AS400 environments.
• Experience with IBM PowerHA and high-availability technologies.
• Knowledge of storage technologies, including SAN, NAS, and enterprise storage platforms.
• Experience with IBM BRMS and IBM MQ administration.
• Familiarity with storage replication, FlashCopy, and disaster recovery concepts.
• Experience in performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and system optimization.
• Working knowledge of SQL and CL programming.
• Understanding of virtualization technologies and hybrid infrastructure environments.
• Familiarity with IT service management frameworks such as ITIL.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
