What you'll do:
As Network Lead based in Kuala Lumpur, you will play an instrumental role in architecting resilient network infrastructures that underpin critical business operations worldwide. Your daily activities will involve translating strategic business needs into actionable technical solutions while overseeing both the design and operational aspects of LAN/WAN environments. You will collaborate extensively with cross-functional teams—ranging from engineering staff to senior stakeholders—to ensure seamless integration of new technologies such as SDWAN and cloud-based services. By managing vendor relationships and driving compliance with industry standards like ISO 27001 or PCIDSS, you will help maintain robust security postures. Your ability to guide change initiatives through participation in advisory boards ensures that every transition is smooth and aligned with organisational objectives. Success in this role requires not only deep technical knowledge but also excellent interpersonal skills to nurture team development and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Take overall responsibility for defining the company’s network vision, architecture, design principles, and ensuring operational excellence across all global sites except small branch offices.
- Translate complex business requirements into clear network architecture strategies and solution roadmaps that align with organisational goals and future technology trends.
- Envision future-proofed Wide Area Network (WAN) and Local Area Network (LAN) solutions—including wireless—by collaborating closely with internal teams and external partners.
- Lead architectural design sessions for upcoming networking projects while maintaining strong relationships with sourcing partners to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the global network by implementing proactive monitoring systems, adaptive maintenance routines, and corrective actions as needed to maintain high availability.
- Coordinate and manage engineering teams by providing technical guidance, training resources, and performance feedback to both internal staff and third-party service providers.
- Act as the primary interface for all network-related services delivered by external vendors; monitor compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs), generate management reports, and assess qualitative data on service effectiveness.
- Understand legacy networking standards to guarantee accurate service delivery during ongoing transitions managed by outsourcing partners.
- Participate actively in the Change Advisory Board for IT landscape changes while leading incident response efforts as well as proactive problem management within the network domain.
- Develop target operating models in partnership with management to establish rigorous networking standards, workflows, and best practices across engineering staff.

- A minimum of ten years’ experience in network solution roles within large-scale distributed organisations operating globally or regionally.
- Demonstrated expertise in designing network architectures for multinational enterprises with proven ability to envision future networking landscapes.
- Comprehensive understanding of legacy LAN/WAN/Wireless/VoIP technologies including Cisco Router/Switch/Wireless/VoIP/ISE/ASA Firewall as well as Checkpoint Firewall, Juniper Pulse Secure, RSA, Fortinet or Aruba/Silver Peak solutions.
- Industry-recognised certifications such as CCNP, CCDP or CCIE; CCVP; CCNA Wireless; CWNA; CWNP; or equivalent credentials are essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows Server environments, Linux systems administration, and advanced networking protocols is highly desirable.
- Experience guiding application teams on optimising behaviour over wide area networks while translating business requirements into technical architectures.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills enabling you to produce compelling presentations for both technical audiences and senior management stakeholders.
- Familiarity with accreditation frameworks such as ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials or PCIDSS along with hands-on experience managing compliance requirements.
- A collaborative approach with strong interpersonal skills allowing you to influence others towards shared goals while nurturing team cohesion across cultural boundaries.
- Proven track record supporting 24-7-365 operations groups within global organisations including escalation management and follow-through on complex issues.
