Agentic Workflow Automation Lead (AI)
A leading organisation is seeking a Workflow Automation Lead (Artificial Intelligence) to establish and guide a new agentic workflow team in Kuala Lumpur, supporting commercial visibility and operational process improvement across Asia.
WORKFLOW AUTOMATION LEAD (AI)
This role offers the unique opportunity to blend hands-on solution delivery with supportive team coaching, working at the forefront of applied AI and workflow automation within Microsoft 365, Copilot Studio, Power Platform, Azure AI, SharePoint, Teams, and related services. You will be empowered to architect practical workflows that drive measurable business outcomes, foster organisational learning, and enhance decision-making processes. The position promises a balance between technical challenge and interpersonal engagement, with flexibility to collaborate across Asian time zones and occasional travel within the region. If you are passionate about transforming ambiguous business problems into actionable solutions while nurturing a dependable team environment, this is your chance to make a significant impact.
* Lead a newly established agentic workflow team in Kuala Lumpur focused on commercial visibility and operating-process improvement for Asia B2B operations, blending hands-on build with supportive coaching responsibilities.
* Work directly with advanced Microsoft technologies including Copilot Studio, Power Platform, Azure AI, SharePoint, Teams, and Dataverse to deliver production-ready workflow automations that capture decisions, evidence, actions, outcomes, and lessons.
* Enjoy flexible collaboration across Asian time zones with opportunities for regional travel as needed; benefit from an inclusive environment where your expertise in business analysis and AI-driven process transformation will be highly valued.
What you'll do:
As Workflow Automation Lead (Artificial Intelligence), you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of commercial visibility and operational excellence across Asia B2B operations. Your day-to-day activities will involve guiding a small but capable team of Agentic Workflow Architects through every stage of solution delivery—from initial design through configuration and testing to release and continuous improvement. You will architect practical workflows that integrate seamlessly with Microsoft 365 environments while ensuring each solution captures critical business decisions and outcomes. By defining reusable patterns for prompts and knowledge grounding as well as establishing robust evaluation methods for quality assurance and user adoption metrics, you will help drive measurable improvements in operational reliability. Your collaborative approach will see you partnering with process owners to simplify tasks before automation while maintaining strong governance standards around security and privacy. Through regular preparation of demonstrations and adoption materials for pilot launches or regional expansions—and by providing clear communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders—you will ensure that every workflow delivers tangible value to users throughout the organisation.
* Guide and coach three Agentic Workflow Architects while actively contributing to design, configuration, development, testing, release, and ongoing improvement of workflow solutions.
* Define reusable patterns for agentic workflows including prompts, knowledge grounding, human review processes, approvals, exception handling mechanisms, monitoring strategies, and user support materials.
* Own the workflow backlog by sequencing delivery against pilot gates, user value priorities, operational risk assessments, and expansion readiness criteria.
* Design and build robust solutions using Copilot Studio, Power Automate, Power Apps, Teams, SharePoint, Dataverse, Power BI, Azure OpenAI, and Azure AI services tailored to business needs.
* Ensure all workflows comprehensively capture decisions made by stakeholders along with evidence sources, responsible owners, deadlines for action items, outcomes achieved, and lessons learned in a traceable operating loop.
* Establish practical evaluation methods for response quality assurance such as extraction consistency checks, workflow completion rates tracking, user adoption measurement tools, and operational reliability reviews.
* Partner closely with process owners to simplify work before automating it—avoiding unnecessary manual controls or over-engineering—and ensuring solutions are fit-for-purpose.
* Coordinate limited API access points including webhooks or batch-based source connections when required without shifting the team's focus away from core workflow enablement.
* Collaborate with relevant control functions to ensure appropriate security protocols are followed alongside privacy safeguards; manage access rights retention policies; maintain human oversight; and produce thorough documentation.
* Prepare engaging demonstrations for pilot launches as well as comprehensive operating documentation; develop adoption materials; provide leadership updates for regional expansion decisions.
What you bring:
To excel as Workflow Automation Lead (Artificial Intelligence), you will bring substantial experience in designing and delivering automated workflows powered by applied AI within business environments. A pragmatic approach allows you to deliver useful increments without over-engineering while maintaining attention to detail around governance/security/privacy requirements. Your proven ability to translate ambiguous challenges into actionable releases sets you apart as someone who can drive meaningful change through teamwork and supportive leadership.
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Analytics or related field—or equivalent practical experience demonstrating deep understanding of workflow automation principles.
