Senior Cloud Engineer (AWS)

A leading organization is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to manage and enhance its cloud and infrastructure platforms. This role focuses on ensuring the reliability, availability, and security of both cloud-based and on-premises environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with AWS services, core infrastructure technologies, and operational best practices.

Key Skills: AWS cloud services, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, AWS CloudFormation), Windows/Linux systems, enterprise networking, disaster recovery, cloud security, monitoring tools (Amazon CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog), compliance and governance, troubleshooting, technical documentation.

What you'll do:

• Manage and maintain cloud and infrastructure services with a focus on AWS environments (compute, storage, networking, databases).
• Troubleshoot and optimize workloads across AWS and other hyperscale platforms like Azure or GCP.
• Implement monitoring solutions using tools such as Amazon CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, and Datadog for proactive issue detection.
• Support backup/recovery mechanisms (e.g., AWS Backup) and disaster recovery configurations (e.g., Multi-AZ/Region setups).
• Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and AWS CloudFormation for standardized resource provisioning.
• Participate in 24x7 production support and incident response for AWS workloads.
• Ensure compliance with cloud security standards and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain operational documentation such as runbooks and architecture notes.
• Contribute to cost optimization initiatives within AWS environments.

What you bring:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related fields; relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified SysOps Administrator or Solutions Architect) are an advantage.
• 5 years of experience in infrastructure operations across data centers and cloud environments.
• Strong expertise in Windows/Linux systems, directory services (LDAP), DNS/DHCP, load balancing, clustering, SFTP, etc.
• Proven experience in cloud operations with a focus on AWS services and best practices.
• Knowledge of backup/disaster recovery processes and high availability configurations in AWS environments.
• Familiarity with project tracking tools like Jira or Azure DevOps.
• Understanding of audit/compliance/security requirements with experience implementing control measures.
