Automation Engineer (Ansible)

A leading financial institution is seeking an Automation Engineer to serve as the subject matter expert for Ansible and Ansible Automation Platform (AAP). The role involves designing, building, and scaling infrastructure and application automation across the enterprise. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with Ansible, strong scripting skills, and a proven track record of driving automation adoption across diverse teams.

What you'll do:

• Design and develop Ansible playbooks, roles, and collections for infrastructure and application automation.
• Architect and administer Ansible Automation Platform (AAP/AWX), including inventories, credentials, and RBAC.
• Integrate Ansible with CI/CD pipelines, ServiceNow, and observability tools.
• Promote automation adoption across infrastructure, middleware, and application teams.
• Establish coding standards, version control practices using Git, and best practices for automation workflows.

What you bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with Ansible, including AAP/AWX administration.
• Advanced scripting skills in Python, YAML, Jinja2, and Bash.
• Proven experience automating systems across Linux, Windows environments, network devices, and cloud platforms like Azure/AWS.
• Knowledge of Git-based version control systems and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab.
• Familiarity with REST APIs for integration purposes.
• Preferred certifications: Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation (EX407/EX374).
