What you'll do:
As a Platform and Automation Engineer based in Kuala Lumpur, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the organisation’s cloud infrastructure by designing and operating scalable middleware platforms tailored for internal IT use. Your day-to-day activities will involve collaborating with various teams to develop robust automations that simplify operational processes while ensuring compliance with internal standards. You will be responsible for troubleshooting complex issues alongside IT delivery teams and proactively identifying opportunities to expand the range of supported cloud services. By leveraging your scripting skills and experience with CI/CD pipelines as well as Infrastructure-As-Code tools, you will drive efficiency throughout the platform lifecycle. - Design, set up, build, and operate cloud-as-a-service platforms for internal IT teams, including but not limited to AKS, Azure Function, Azure App Service, Azure VM, Redis, SQL MI/Azure SQL, and Azure DevOps.
- Develop automations and supporting services that enhance operations, monitoring, and auditing processes in line with internal standards.
- Collaborate closely with IT delivery teams and cross-functional groups to ensure successful adoption of platform services and deliver best-in-class solutions.
- Provide expert support and troubleshooting assistance to IT delivery teams regarding issues or requirements related to platform services.
- Continuously expand the catalogue of supported cloud services beyond Azure as organisational needs evolve.
- Utilise program scripting languages such as Python or Go to automate tasks and improve efficiency across the platform ecosystem.
- Implement CI/CD pipeline tooling including Jenkins to streamline development workflows and deployment processes.
- Leverage Infrastructure-As-Code configuration management tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Saltstack, or Chef/Puppet to maintain consistent infrastructure environments.
- Use Atlassian tools like JIRA, Bitbucket, and Confluence for planning, documentation, management, and delivery of platform services.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies in cloud engineering to recommend improvements that align with business objectives.

- A minimum of five years’ experience in a cloud engineering role with at least two years focused on Cloud Automation Engineering responsibilities.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Azure Cloud Platform with proven hands-on implementations involving AKS, Azure Function, Azure App Service, Azure VM, Redis, SQL MI/Azure SQL, and Azure DevOps.
- Proficiency in program scripting using Python or Go or other relevant languages to automate tasks efficiently across diverse environments.
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipeline tooling such as Jenkins to facilitate seamless integration and deployment processes within development teams.
- Hands-on familiarity with Infrastructure-As-Code configuration management tools including at least one from Terraform, Ansible, Saltstack or Chef/Puppet for maintaining reliable infrastructure states.
- Comfortable using Atlassian tools (JIRA, Bitbucket & Confluence) daily for planning projects, documenting progress, managing tasks and delivering high-quality platform services.
- Demonstrated ability to adjust priorities flexibly in response to changing business needs while remaining open-minded about new approaches or technologies.
