What you'll do:

As a Data Engineering and Integration Operations Manager in Kuala Lumpur, you will be at the heart of the organisation’s technology operations. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve designing innovative solutions for integrating data across various platforms—APIs, files, warehouses—and actively developing these using SQL and Python. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including Data Engineering, Development, Technology, and Client groups to ensure seamless data flow into modern cloud environments like Snowflake or Google BigQuery. Your role will require you to create bespoke configurations tailored to business needs while providing expert troubleshooting for any technical issues that arise. You’ll lead migration projects from legacy systems to advanced platforms, coordinate incident responses across teams, facilitate Agile planning sessions for prioritising technical activities, and continuously seek ways to automate processes for greater efficiency. Success in this position means not only delivering reliable data solutions but also nurturing knowledge sharing among team members while remaining deeply involved in hands-on technical tasks.

• Design, develop, and troubleshoot data integration solutions across API, file-based, and data warehouse environments to ensure seamless data delivery.
• Utilise SQL and Python for hands-on development, analysis, and troubleshooting of complex data pipelines and integration processes.
• Support the integration and delivery of data into modern cloud warehouse platforms such as Snowflake, Google BigQuery, and Databricks by implementing robust solutions.
• Create customised file configurations and tailored data delivery solutions based on specific business requirements and client needs.
• Provide technical troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for issues affecting data pipelines, APIs, feeds, and downstream warehouse environments.
• Lead migration initiatives from legacy systems to modern platforms by planning technical strategies and executing them efficiently.
• Offer guidance on API integration, data delivery methods, and warehouse integration best practices to internal teams.
• Collaborate closely with Data Engineering and Development teams to investigate application issues and drive timely resolution of integration challenges.
• Identify automation opportunities and process optimisations that enhance operational efficiency, reliability, and performance of data delivery systems.
• Monitor operational KPIs and service metrics to detect recurring issues; implement continuous improvements for sustained excellence.
• Coordinate technical incidents, enhancements, and integration activities across multiple technology teams while facilitating Agile planning.

• 10–15 years of proven experience in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, Data Integration or related technical fields with a strong track record of success.
• Extensive hands-on expertise with SQL and Python for developing robust data pipelines and troubleshooting complex integration processes.
• Comprehensive understanding of data warehouse architecture including ETL/ELT processes as well as enterprise-level data interfaces.
• Demonstrated experience with API integrations alongside practical knowledge of JSON, XML or other common data exchange formats.
• Hands-on familiarity with modern cloud platforms such as Snowflake, Google BigQuery or Databricks for large-scale data delivery.
• Exceptional technical troubleshooting skills including debugging capabilities for production environments facing complex issues.
• Experience leading migration projects from legacy systems to contemporary platforms with effective stakeholder coordination.
• Strong communication skills enabling clear interaction with stakeholders at all levels plus effective management of operational priorities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or Data Engineering (or related discipline) underpinning your technical foundation.
• Desirable: Experience with Java or other programming languages; exposure to Azure DevOps/Splunk/Salesforce/Microsoft Excel/Power BI; operational monitoring tools; Agile methodologies; scripting/automation; understanding of cloud technologies; experience with large-scale distribution platforms.
