Finance Forward Deployed Data Engineer – Databricks

About the Role We are looking for an experienced Azure Cloud Architect to join a leading insurance organisation. This role focuses on enterprise Azure architecture, cloud transformation, modernisation, governance and security, working with stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable and sustainable cloud solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and productionise Databricks lakehouse data products across Azure & Google Cloud.

• Partner with Finance stakeholders on reporting, planning, regulatory and analytics use cases.

• Develop pipelines, tables and workflows using Spark, SQL, Python & Delta Lake.

• Apply medallion architecture, Unity Catalog, lineage, access controls and data quality.

• Implement Databricks Genie and support Databricks Apps for governed Finance workflows.

• Implement orchestration, monitoring, reconciliation, CI/CD and operational handover.

Candidate Requirements

• 5–8 years of hands-on data engineering experience.

• Experience in Finance, Insurance, Banking or regulated industries preferred.

• Strong Databricks, Spark, SQL, Python and Delta Lake experience.

• Experience with Azure & Google Cloud data engineering.

• Strong understanding of data governance, lineage, security and data quality.

• Hands-on Databricks Genie experience; Databricks Apps experience highly preferred.

• Strong Finance/reporting knowledge and stakeholder management skills.
