What you'll do:
As a Senior Logistic Traffic Specialist based in Batu Kawan, you will be entrusted with overseeing critical aspects of customs compliance within a manufacturing setting. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve managing import/export operations with precision—ensuring that all documentation aligns with regulatory requirements. You will coordinate duty exemption processes for various materials and equipment while preparing detailed reports for submission to government agencies. In addition to handling scrap disposal approvals and audit preparations, you will proactively identify risks within compliance controls and implement solutions that enhance operational efficiency. Your role requires close collaboration with both internal teams and external authorities to maintain seamless permit applications and regulatory submissions. By leveraging advanced customs platforms and ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle, you will help drive continuous improvement initiatives that support the company’s commitment to excellence in logistics traffic management.
- Ensure full compliance with Royal Malaysian Customs Department requirements and licence conditions for new product registration, LMW renewal, value-added activities, and subcontracting processes.
- Manage duty and tax exemption procedures for imported raw materials, components, machinery, and equipment under applicable LMW exemptions, guaranteeing accurate handling throughout.
- Oversee import documentation by verifying customs declarations under AEO standards and preparing supporting documents for imports, exports-returns, and subcontract LMW movements.
- Prepare and submit required LMW reports (M1, M & M4), conduct reconciliations within regulatory deadlines, and ensure timely submission into Custom LMW Smart GPB systems.
- Coordinate approval processes with Customs for scrap, waste, rejected materials, destruction, disposal, or other write-offs by managing all necessary documentation.
- Support Customs LMW audits by preparing comprehensive documentation and reconciliations for inspections, licence renewals, and responding effectively to queries from authorities.
- Identify discrepancies or potential customs violations through diligent compliance controls; investigate root causes thoroughly and implement corrective actions to strengthen internal processes.
- Collaborate closely with regulatory authorities such as RMCD, MITI, MIDA, SIRIM Berhad, DOE to ensure all permit conditions, licensing requirements, import/export restrictions are met.
- Utilise customs declaration platforms like uCustoms or Dagang Net efficiently while maintaining high accuracy in tariff classification, customs valuation, Rules of Origin, and Free Trade Agreements (FTAs).
- Work alongside cross-functional teams to manage multiple permits, customs declarations, regulatory submissions concurrently while maintaining effective stakeholder communication.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, Business Administration or related discipline is essential for this role.
- Minimum 5–10 years of experience in Customs Compliance, Trade Compliance or Import/Export Operations within a manufacturing environment is required.
- Hands-on experience with Licensed Manufacturing Warehouse (LMW) operations in Malaysia is highly desirable for successful performance.
- Proven track record in customs permit applications including import/export declarations, duty exemption management as well as regulatory reporting is expected.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Malaysian Customs regulations including import/export controls and trade compliance requirements is vital.
- Experience working directly with regulatory authorities such as RMCD, MITI, MIDA, SIRIM Berhad or DOE demonstrates your ability to navigate complex compliance landscapes.
- Sound understanding of permit conditions along with licensing requirements ensures adherence to import/export restrictions and regulatory obligations.
- Proficiency in using customs declaration platforms like uCustoms or Dagang Net plus familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle enhances operational effectiveness.
- Solid grasp of tariff classification methods including customs valuation principles plus Rules of Origin application under Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) is advantageous.
- Exceptional attention to detail combined with strong analytical skills enables accurate management of documentation while identifying risks promptly.
