Senior Order Management Specialist A leading multinational organisation is seeking a Senior Order Management Specialist to join their thriving Global Business Services hub in Kuala Lumpur. This role offers you the opportunity to independently manage end-to-end Order-to-Cash operations across key APAC regional clusters, positioning you as a subject-matter expert for complex order processing, pricing validation, exception handling, and stakeholder coordination.
What you'll do:
- Receive, validate, and process sales orders, quotations, price conditions, and return requests using SAP systems to ensure accuracy and compliance with company standards.
- Manage high-value, non-standard cases such as manual order releases, credit-block scenarios, detours, and urgent order redirections with careful attention to detail and timely resolution.
- Perform inventory and Available-To-Promise (ATP) checks while coordinating directly with plant planners or principal suppliers to guarantee on-time delivery for all customer orders.
- Act as a functional reference point for the team by providing day-to-day guidance and informal coaching to junior colleagues, fostering a collaborative learning environment.
- Handle exception management by identifying potential issues early in the process and implementing effective solutions that minimise disruption to customers and stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams including supply chain, finance, sales, and customer service to align operational priorities and deliver outstanding service across the region.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by contributing insights from daily operations that help optimise workflows and enhance overall efficiency within the hub.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all order management activities in SAP and Salesforce CRM/ticketing systems to ensure transparency and traceability.
- Communicate proactively with regional stakeholders in English (and other languages if applicable), adapting your approach to meet the needs of different APAC market hours.
- Participate in regular team meetings and training sessions aimed at developing best practices for order management processes.
What you bring:
- Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience in Order Management (O2C), Customer Service, or Supply Chain operations within Manufacturing or Chemical/Distribution sectors is essential for success in this role.
- Strong proficiency in SAP (Order-to-Cash module) is required along with familiarity using Salesforce CRM or ticketing systems for efficient workflow management.
- Excellent English communication skills are necessary as you will be supporting APAC regional market hours including India or ANZ time zones; adaptability is key.
- Proficiency in regional languages such as Tamil, Hindi, or Mandarin is highly advantageous for engaging stakeholders across diverse markets.
- A background in Production Planning provides added value when navigating complex supply chain scenarios within the hub environment.
- Demonstrated ability to coach junior team members informally while maintaining a collaborative spirit that supports communal learning.
- Experience managing high-value or non-standard cases involving manual order releases or urgent redirections showcases your dependability under pressure.
- Attention to detail when validating sales orders, quotations, price conditions, and return requests ensures compliance with company standards every step of the way.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with plant planners or principal suppliers reflects your interpersonal skills and commitment to timely delivery outcomes.
