Material Control Manager (HVAC Manufacturing) A leading HVAC manufacturing organisation in Selangor is seeking a Material Control Manager to oversee and optimise inventory management, material planning, and store operations.

What you'll do:

• Lead the material planning and store teams with a focus on nurturing collaboration, supporting professional development, and ensuring effective communication across departments.
• Develop comprehensive strategies to improve inventory management by identifying key problem areas and establishing actionable plans for continuous improvement.
• Champion projects aimed at process optimisation, material substitution, and system integration or automation to enhance overall operational efficiency.
• Establish robust inventory control measures and material management plans that align with organisational goals for cost-effectiveness and productivity.
• Recommend solutions for integrating systems and processes to boost operational efficiency while maintaining high standards of accuracy in stock handling.
• Manage staff performance through goal setting, planning, training initiatives, and regular evaluations to foster a dependable and knowledgeable team.
• Prepare for and support stock take activities by coordinating resources and ensuring accurate reporting of inventory levels.
• Oversee material planning by collaborating closely with purchasing, logistics, store, and production teams to achieve targets set in KPI metrics.
• Attend weekly Factory Order Review meetings to ensure production plans meet customer expectations regarding lead time and scheduling requirements.
• Implement forecasting mechanisms to derive material forecasts that support production loading while ensuring materials are available on time.

What you bring:

• At least 10 years of proven experience within the manufacturing sector, demonstrating a deep understanding of supply chain dynamics.
• Minimum 5 years in a managerial capacity overseeing material control or related functions, with responsibility for team leadership.
• Strong background in inventory management principles, including forecasting mechanisms, cost control measures, and process optimisation techniques.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with purchasing, logistics, production, and other departments to achieve shared objectives.
• Experience preparing for stock take activities and reviewing cycle count variance reports to maintain high levels of inventory accuracy.
• Familiarity with system integration or automation projects within manufacturing environments aimed at enhancing operational efficiency.
• Knowledge of material substitution practices relevant to HVAC manufacturing processes.
• Experience implementing Push/Pull system processes for material requirement planning.
• Ability to lead slow-moving inventory reduction initiatives, including disposal activity management.
• Strong interpersonal skills, enabling effective communication across diverse teams.
