Material Planner (FMCG) A leading global FMCG is seeking a Material Planner to join their supply chain team. What you'll do:
As a Material Planner (FMCG), you will be at the heart of the central supply chain function. Your day-to-day activities will involve close collaboration with planners, schedulers, transport coordinators, and other cross-functional teams.
- Oversee alerts throughout the material call-off process by managing rescheduling needs, addressing over or under coverage issues, and reporting shortages to ensure smooth operations.
- Convert purchase requisitions into purchase orders efficiently, send them promptly to vendors, and secure timely confirmations to maintain uninterrupted material flow.
- Review daily metrics with a focus on short inbound deliveries, material concerns, escalations, and unconfirmed purchase orders to proactively address potential bottlenecks.
- Handle dispatches of materials to vendors while updating component details in purchase orders where necessary for accurate record-keeping.
- Monitor supplier On Time In Full (OTIF) performance closely, escalate any issues to the Category Material Planner, and track failure reasons for continuous improvement.
- Flag required updates to SKU master data—especially those impacting new product introductions—in coordination with the Planning Data Analyst for data accuracy.
- Support SAP alert resolution during medium-term supply planning cycles by collaborating with relevant teams for effective problem-solving.
- Assist in aged inventory reviews by taking action on blocked, reworked, or leftover stock as well as addressing quality inspection release challenges.
What you bring:
To excel as a Material Planner Fast Moving Consumer Goods, you will bring hands-on experience from previous roles involving supply chain planning or procurement.
- Minimum 2 - 3 years of experience in supply chain planning or procurement roles within fast moving consumer goods or related industries.
- Experience working with FMCG is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated proficiency using ERP systems such as SAP along with advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting purposes.
- Familiarity with PowerBI or similar business intelligence tools would be advantageous.
- Excellent interpersonal skills enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- A keen eye for detail when reviewing metrics or updating master data ensures that all records remain accurate and up-to-date at all times.
- Problem-solving mindset supported by analytical thinking helps you identify root causes quickly when addressing supply chain disruptions or non-conformances.
- Commitment to continuous improvement drives your participation in cost reduction initiatives or process optimisation projects within the planning function.
