What you'll do:

As a Business Development Manager (Foodservice Channel) based in Selangor, you will play an integral role in driving the growth of the organisation's presence within the dynamic foodservice landscape. Your day-to-day activities will involve managing a diverse portfolio of key accounts across HORECA, bakery, catering, and distributor partners. You will focus on building lasting relationships with customers by understanding their unique needs and delivering value-added solutions. By developing joint business plans with major clients and negotiating favorable terms, you will help secure long-term partnerships that underpin sustainable growth. Your responsibilities will also include monitoring account performance against set targets, identifying new opportunities for expansion within the sector, and collaborating closely with internal teams such as marketing for promotional activities or R&D for bespoke product offerings. Success in this role requires a proactive approach to account management combined with a passion for collaboration, ensuring every initiative aligns with broader channel strategies while consistently exceeding expectations.

  • Manage and grow assigned foodservice accounts by ensuring delivery of agreed sales volumes and profitability targets through attentive relationship management.
  • Build and maintain strong customer connections with HORECA, bakery, catering, and distributor partners by understanding their needs and providing responsive support.
  • Negotiate pricing structures, contracts, and promotional agreements with customers to secure mutually beneficial outcomes that foster loyalty.
  • Develop Joint Business Plans with key accounts to strengthen partnerships and drive shared success within the foodservice sector.
  • Monitor account performance closely to ensure excellent execution of programs while identifying areas for improvement or innovation.
  • Execute the overarching foodservice strategy to increase channel penetration and stimulate category growth in line with organisational objectives.
  • Identify new business opportunities within the foodservice sector by analyzing market trends and recommending tailored solutions that address emerging needs.
  • Work collaboratively with distributors to expand market reach, improve sales coverage, and enhance service delivery across multiple regions.
  • Coordinate with marketing on customer promotions, point-of-sale materials (POSM), and activation campaigns to maximize brand visibility.
  • Collaborate with R&D and technical teams to deliver customized product solutions that meet specific client requirements while maintaining high standards of quality.

To excel as a business development manager (Foodservice Channel), you will bring substantial experience from fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) environments, particularly those focused on foodservice channels such as HORECA or distribution networks.   • A proven track record in managing HORECA, bakery, catering, and distributor partners showcases your ability to handle complex stakeholder relationships effectively.
  • Demonstrated experience making data-driven decisions using distributor dashboards or insights to drive menu penetration highlights your analytical capabilities.
