Our client is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Product Specialist to join their team and to be based in Penang.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to utilise your sales skills, manage key accounts, and contribute to marketing initiatives. You will be responsible for achieving sales quotas through the direct sale of the company's products or services, prioritising selling activities via account/territory management, and identifying new business opportunities. Your ability to apply therapy and/or product knowledge to differentiate products from competitors will be crucial in this role.

What you'll do:

As a Product Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our client's business. Your primary responsibility will be achieving sales quotas through direct sales of the company's products or services. You will manage key accounts and territories, understanding key decision makers, buying influences, and processes to optimise your selling activities. Your ability to identify existing and prospective customers' needs will be essential in securing new business opportunities. Additionally, you will apply your therapy or product knowledge to differentiate our client's products from competitors. Monitoring sales against forecasts and participating in determining market potential for your territory will also fall under your remit. Lastly, you will have the opportunity to coordinate and participate in major marketing initiatives such as exhibitions, symposiums, promotional campaigns etc.

  • Achieve sales quotas through the direct sale of the company’s products or services
  • Prioritise selling activities via account/territory management which includes understanding of key decision makers, buying-influences and processes
  • Identify and call on existing and prospective customers to understand and meet customers’ needs
  • Apply therapy and/or product knowledge to differentiate Baxter products vs. competitors
  • Monitor sales against forecasts and participate in the determination of market potential for the territory
  • Proactively seek new business opportunities to secure sales
  • Coordinate and participate in major marketing initiatives e.g. exhibitions, symposiums, promotional campaigns etc.
  • Provide feedback for the development of marketing policy, recommended product and product line revisions as well as pricing changes

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Product Specialist role brings a wealth of experience in managing hospital accounts and solution selling. With at least 5 years' experience under your belt, you are adept at managing territories or regions with minimal supervision. Your experience in tender management will be highly advantageous in this role. You have a proven track record of consistent performance, delivering high-quality sales efforts and achieving targets. Your ability to conduct CME and product training to HCPs will be crucial in this role. A degree in Nursing, Science, Pharmacy or equivalent is preferable.

  • Degree in Nursing, Science, Pharmacy or equivalent preferable
  • At least 5 years’ experience of managing hospital accounts and solutions selling
  • Ability to manage territory/region with minimal supervision
  • Experience in tender management is added advantage
  • Experience working in pharmaceuticals or medical device organisations is added advantage
  • Demonstrated a track record of consistent performance delivering high quality sales effort and target achievement
  • Ability to conduct CME and product training to HCPs
