Channel Development Executive
A leading organisation in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Channel Development Executive to join their Trade Development Department. What you'll do:
As a Channel Development Executive based in Kuala Lumpur, you will play a pivotal role in integrating channel retailers with brand objectives by working collaboratively across departments. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve tracking sales performance, managing trade spend, reviewing promotional proposals from distributors, developing engaging trade support materials, liaising with merchandising agencies for competitive pricing analysis, assisting in display management programmes, and supporting corporate fair organisation. Success in this role requires you to foster strong relationships internally and externally while maintaining high standards of reporting accuracy. You will be expected to contribute creative solutions for trade marketing activities while ensuring timely execution of promotions and events. - Deliver channel and category in-market sales targets by collaborating closely with distributor teams and internal stakeholders.
- Track channel and category sales performance, ensuring trade spend remains within planned budgets while maintaining accurate records.
- Drive the implementation of channel strategies through effective communication with distributors, aligning objectives with brand goals.
- Review, analyse, and recommend price promotion proposals from distributors for approval, ensuring alignment with overall business strategy.
- Monitor promotion execution, conduct post-promotion evaluations, and reconcile actual spending against commitments on a quarterly basis.
- Contribute to conceiving and managing trade marketing activities in conjunction with brand teams and distributors within assigned channels.
- Develop trade support materials such as Point of Sales Materials (POSMs) and sales brochures to enhance visibility and engagement at retail locations.
- Liaise with merchandising agencies to update key competitive pricing reports of retailers, establishing monthly competitive pricing insights.
- Assist in managing in-store displays and merchandising programmes to ensure compliance with plan, supporting displays with POSMs and dress-ups.
- Contribute to organising corporate fairs by coordinating mechanics, theme creation, roadshows, sales tracking, reporting, and supplier engagement.

- At least three year's experience in trade marketing, category management or sales roles within the FMCG industry is highly desirable for this position.
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree holders are preferred; however SPM or STPM candidates with ten year's related working experience will also be considered.

- Excellent numerical abilities allow you to track budgets, analyse pricing trends, and evaluate promotional effectiveness efficiently.

- Proficiency in English is essential for clear communication across teams; advanced skills in MS Office (especially Excel & PowerPoint) are required for reporting purposes.
