Head of Investments (REIT)

A leading listed real estate investment platform in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a commercially driven Head of Investments to lead investment origination, acquisitions and transaction execution activities. About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head of Investments to lead investment sourcing and acquisition activities for a listed real estate investment platform.

This role is suited to a commercially astute dealmaker who enjoys being in the market, building relationships and uncovering opportunities. Rather than simply reviewing opportunities generated by others, you will be expected to proactively identify, originate and drive transactions from initial engagement through to successful completion.

Key responsibilities include:

• Source, originate and secure new real estate investment opportunities
• Build and maintain strong relationships with property owners, developers, agents, advisers, investors and other market participants
• Develop and manage a robust acquisition pipeline, including off-market opportunities
• Conduct preliminary commercial assessments, financial analysis and feasibility studies to evaluate potential transactions
• Lead negotiations, due diligence and transaction execution processes
• Prepare and present investment recommendations to senior management and relevant stakeholders
• Work closely with internal and external parties to ensure the smooth completion of transactions
• Lead and develop the investment function while fostering a proactive and results-oriented culture

About the Person
You are a driven and entrepreneurial real estate investment professional with a proven track record of sourcing, originating and completing transactions.

You enjoy being in the field, building networks and creating opportunities. You are naturally proactive, commercially minded and comfortable taking ownership of the deal-making process from start to finish.

To succeed in this role, you will ideally possess:

• Demonstrated experience in real estate investments, acquisitions, corporate real estate, property development or a related field
• A strong track record of originating and executing investment transactions
• Established relationships across the real estate ecosystem and the ability to build new networks quickly
• Experience assessing investment opportunities through financial analysis, valuation review and feasibility studies
• Exposure to multiple property sectors, particularly logistics, industrial, retail and commercial real estate
• Strong commercial judgement and the ability to identify value-enhancing opportunities
• Excellent negotiation, stakeholder management and presentation skills
• Previous leadership experience or the ability to mentor and develop investment professionals
