What you'll do:

As a Senior Business Development Engineer, your role will be pivotal in shaping the future of renewable energy. You'll be at the forefront of identifying new business opportunities within the solar and clean energy sector. Your expertise will be crucial in developing tailored solutions that meet client needs and technical requirements. You'll collaborate with various internal teams to ensure seamless project development while also leading client meetings to present technical and commercial proposals. Your responsibilities will also include preparing bid documents for tenders and RFPs while keeping abreast of market trends within the solar energy sector.

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the solar and clean energy sector
  • Develop proposals and solutions based on client needs and technical requirements
  • Support site assessments, feasibility studies, and system sizing with engineering input
  • Collaborate with project, finance, and engineering teams to ensure seamless project development
  • Lead client meetings and presentations to explain technical and commercial proposals
  • Assist in preparing bid documents, pricing, and technical submissions for tenders and RFPs
  • Keep up with market trends, competitors, and policy changes relevant to solar energy
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, consultants, and government agencies

What you bring:

As a Senior Business Development Engineer, you bring a wealth of knowledge from your previous experience within solar energy or related fields. Your strong understanding of solar PV systems coupled with your ability to prepare technical proposals makes you an ideal candidate for this role. Your excellent communication skills will enable you to effectively lead client meetings while your ability to work both independently as well as part of cross-functional teams will be key to your success. Knowledge of solar incentives, PPAs, and local energy regulations would be a significant advantage.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Renewable Energy)
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in solar energy, engineering, or technical sales
  • Solid understanding of solar PV systems, energy calculations, and project lifecycles
  • Experience in preparing technical proposals and supporting commercial negotiations
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Comfortable working both independently and in cross-functional teams
  • Knowledge of solar incentives, PPAs, and local energy regulations is a plus
