Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Sales for their Building Materials division. This role is pivotal in supporting the company's growth and profitability targets through the effective use of their product range and resources. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in implementing building systems initiatives throughout Malaysia, defining key strategies with the General Manager, and guiding the sales team to achieve country growth.

What you'll do:

As the Head of Sales for Building Materials, your primary responsibility will be to support our client's growth and profitability targets. You will work closely with the General Manager to define key strategies that drive country growth. Your role will involve collecting project information, identifying opportunities, preparing technical proposals, and coordinating product approval procedures. You'll also coach and monitor your team using tools like Salesforce, prepare project profiles, and communicate regularly with the Regional/Global Building Systems Head.

  • Define key moves and strategies with the General Manager to achieve country growth
  • Collect all available information about defined projects
  • Identify Sika opportunities and prepare technical proposals for possible solutions
  • Work closely with the sales team to prepare activity plans for accounts/projects
  • Coordinate product approval procedures with the sales team
  • Coach, monitor, and report using existing tools such as Salesforce
  • Prepare project profiles and reference data as it becomes available
  • Communicate and report activities to Regional/Global Building Systems Head as necessary

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Head of Sales position will bring a wealth of experience from a similar industry. With at least 8 years under your belt, you understand the product range of a construction chemical supplier inside out. You're adept at identifying project opportunities and can present these convincingly to customers. Your excellent computer skills are matched by your strong organisational abilities, communication prowess, interpersonal skills, leadership qualities, and management expertise.

  • Degree in any discipline, preferably an Engineering degree; MBA would be advantageous
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in a similar industry
  • Understanding of the overall product range of a construction chemical supplier is essential
  • Ability to identify project opportunities and present them convincingly to customers
  • Excellent computer skills including PowerPoint presentation and Excel spreadsheet applications
  • Strong organisational, communication, interpersonal, leadership, and management skills
