This role offers you the chance to take full ownership of a diverse portfolio, driving both core and luxury brands from strategic planning through to flawless execution in market.

What you'll do:

As a Brand Manager Fast Moving Consumer Goods based in Kuala Lumpur, you will play a pivotal role in steering the success of an extensive portfolio by overseeing all aspects of marketing activities from conception through execution. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve harnessing deep market insights to inform strategic decisions while working collaboratively with both local and regional stakeholders. You will be responsible for developing robust PR strategies, managing promotional activities across various channels, negotiating impactful activations with customers, deploying practical tools adapted from global resources for local relevance, evaluating promotional effectiveness alongside commercial teams, compiling insightful monthly reports for leadership review, monitoring competitor movements in the marketplace, cascading best practices throughout the organisation, contributing meaningfully to operational workstreams such as cycle planning meetings, and maintaining open lines of communication regarding progress against objectives. Success in this role will require you to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution while fostering strong relationships across functions.

  • Apply local market, shopper, consumer, and customer insights to inform activity planning and provide valuable feedback to regional teams as needed.
  • Build brands across all channels by adhering to brand guidelines and executing activation campaigns using toolkits developed with the regional marketing team.
  • Develop comprehensive local PR and communication plans including events and public relations while ensuring alignment with global guidelines through close cooperation with the regional marketing team.
  • Collaborate with country managers, commercial teams, and regional marketing colleagues to create rolling execution activity plans that align with approved local brand strategies.
  • Partner with regional marketing to develop in-market brand and channel plans during the annual planning process, helping shape budgets and customer engagement initiatives.
  • Deliver agreed brand targets related to distribution and activation by employing sound financial planning, effective resource management, and consistent alignment of systems and processes.
  • Negotiate activations, promotions, and displays with customers where applicable to increase sales-out and enhance visibility of the brands in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Deploy adaptable tools for channel activation and customer engagement that are tailored from global or regional resources to address key market opportunities within priority channels.
  • Work closely with commercial teams on promotion management and evaluation by monitoring promotional performance metrics such as numbers, shares, prices, and targets in line with global frameworks.
  • Compile detailed monthly reports highlighting achievements, learnings, challenges, next steps for the country manager and wider team; prepare regular updates for regional marketing; monitor competitor activity; share best practices; contribute actively to operating rhythm cycles; maintain information flow regarding progress against plans.

  • Experience collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams including commercial operations and regional marketing partners on annual planning processes.
  • Expertise in delivering brand targets related to distribution or activation through meticulous financial planning combined with resourceful people management skills.
  • Ability to negotiate activations or promotions directly with customers aimed at increasing sales-out volumes as well as enhancing brand visibility at point-of-sale locations.
  • Familiarity deploying flexible channel activation tools or customer engagement solutions adapted from broader corporate resources for targeted local implementation.
  • Competence working alongside commercial teams on promotion management tasks such as tracking promotional performance indicators (numbers/shares/prices/targets) within structured frameworks.
