What you'll do:
As a Marketing Manager based in Kuala Lumpur, you will play a pivotal role in orchestrating the success of major B2B trade shows. Your day-to-day activities will involve everything from strategic planning sessions to hands-on coordination with internal teams ensuring each event runs smoothly. You will be responsible for nurturing valuable partnerships with external organisations while keeping a keen eye on financial performance through meticulous budget oversight. By identifying new opportunities for growth—whether through innovative show verticals or expanded market reach—you will help shape the future direction of these flagship events. Your ability to bring together diverse teams towards a common goal will be essential in creating memorable experiences that deliver measurable value for all stakeholders involved.
- Lead the comprehensive planning and execution of multiple proprietary B2B trade shows from concept through post-event analysis.
- Develop and implement robust event strategies that drive market expansion and foster new business opportunities.
- Cultivate strong relationships with ministries, chambers of commerce, industry associations, and international partners to enhance event reach and reputation.
- Manage all aspects of event P&L including detailed budgeting processes, achieving sponsorship targets, maximising booth sales revenue, and delivering clear ROI reporting.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including sales, operations, content creation, marketing communications, and public relations to ensure seamless event delivery.
- Identify emerging show verticals or untapped market segments that align with the organisation’s long-term strategic objectives.
- Oversee the negotiation and management of contracts with vendors, sponsors, exhibitors, and other key stakeholders.
- Monitor industry trends to inform event themes and ensure offerings remain relevant and competitive within the marketplace.
- Prepare comprehensive post-event reports analysing performance metrics against objectives to inform future improvements.
- Champion best practices in project management to ensure timelines are met and resources are optimally allocated.
