Regional Legal Counsel

We are seeking a highly capable and commercially astute Legal Counsel to lead legal affairs across a growing international business operating in the technology, gaming, media, and digital sectors.

This is a high-impact role offering direct exposure to senior leadership and strategic decision-making. You will serve as a trusted advisor to the business, providing practical legal guidance across corporate, regulatory, commercial, intellectual property, and compliance matters while helping the organisation scale across multiple jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory & Compliance

• Lead regulatory and licensing matters across various jurisdictions.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments and advise on compliance requirements, market entry considerations, and business risks.
• Liaise with external advisors, regulators, and relevant authorities.

Corporate & Governance

• Advise on corporate structuring and governance matters across multiple entities.
• Support strategic initiatives, mergers and acquisitions, and restructuring activities.
• Ensure corporate compliance and governance standards are maintained.

Commercial Contracts

• Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a broad range of commercial agreements.
• Partner closely with business stakeholders to provide commercially sound legal solutions.
• Lead legal due diligence exercises and support strategic partnerships and transactions.

Intellectual Property & Data Protection

• Manage and protect the company's intellectual property portfolio.
• Provide guidance on brand protection, licensing, and technology-related matters.
• Oversee data privacy and data protection compliance across relevant jurisdictions.

Risk Management & Disputes

• Develop and strengthen legal and compliance frameworks.
• Manage disputes, litigation, investigations, and external counsel relationships.
• Support employment-related legal matters, policy development, and employee relations issues.

Leadership & Legal Operations

• Build scalable legal processes, templates, and playbooks.
• Conduct legal awareness and compliance training for internal stakeholders.
• Mentor and support junior legal team members.

Requirements

• Law degree from a recognised university.
• Qualified lawyer in Singapore, Malaysia, the UK, or another common law jurisdiction.
• Min.8 years of post-qualification experience, with a combination of private practice and/or in-house experience preferred.
• Strong experience in commercial contracts, regulatory matters, and corporate legal advisory. Candidates with knowledge of technology, media, intellectual property, digital services, or gaming sectors is highly advantageous.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Commercially minded with the ability to balance legal risk and business objectives.
• Self-driven, hands-on, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
