Senior Legal Manager

A leading organisation in the construction and property development sector is seeking a Senior Legal Manager to join their team. What you'll do:

• Oversee all aspects of litigation management, including coordinating with external counsel, preparing case strategies, and ensuring timely resolution of disputes.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements related to construction projects, property acquisitions, joint ventures, and other business activities.
• Advise internal stakeholders on legal risks associated with real estate transactions, land acquisition processes, leasing arrangements, and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure the organisation’s adherence to relevant laws and regulations governing listed companies within the construction/property development industry.
• Develop and implement compliance programmes that address anti-corruption measures, corporate governance standards, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Provide guidance on contract administration throughout project lifecycles to ensure obligations are met and potential liabilities are minimised.
• Support due diligence efforts for mergers, acquisitions, or divestments by identifying legal risks and recommending solutions.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including finance, operations, and project management—to deliver practical legal advice that supports business objectives.
• Prepare board papers and reports for senior management regarding ongoing legal matters, compliance updates, and risk assessments
• Mentor junior legal staff by sharing knowledge, offering constructive feedback, and promoting best practices in legal research and documentation.

What you bring:

• Have been called to the bar with at least 8-10 years of proven experience handling litigation matters within the construction or property development industry
• Demonstrated ability to draft, review, negotiate, and manage commercial agreements relevant to large-scale construction projects or property developments.
• Strong interpersonal skills enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional teams such as finance, operations, project management, and senior leadership.
