Partner (Capital Markets/Corporate M&A)
A respected boutique law firm is seeking an ambitious and technically strong Salaried Partner to join and help grow its Capital Markets and Corporate Practice Group.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Advising on IPOs, rights issues, private placements, secondary fund-raising exercises, and other equity capital markets transactions.
- Assisting listed companies on Bursa Malaysia regulatory compliance and disclosure obligations.
- Advising sponsors, underwriters, issuers, and corporate clients on capital markets transactions and regulatory matters.
- Drafting and reviewing offering documents, circulars, announcements, and transaction documentation.
- Leading domestic and cross-border M&A transactions, including due diligence, transaction structuring, drafting, negotiations, signing, and completion.
- Advising on joint ventures, shareholder arrangements, corporate reorganisations, and strategic investments.
- Supporting private equity, venture capital, and private fundraising transactions.
- Advising clients on corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and commercial risk management.
Leadership & Practice Development
- Supervising, mentoring, and developing associates and pupils.
- Leading client engagements and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Contributing to business development initiatives, thought leadership, and market visibility.
- Working closely with the firm's leadership to grow and strengthen the Capital Markets and Corporate Practice.
- Minimum 10 years PQE gained within a reputable corporate or capital markets practice.
- Admitted to practise in Malaysia.
- Strong experience in:
- Proven track record of independently managing transactions from start to completion.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, supervise junior lawyers, and manage client relationships.
- Strong commercial awareness and practical problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English.
