As a Senior Associate, you will play a pivotal role in managing significant land dispute cases / construction matters. Your day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Handle high-value land disputes and provide expert advice on land acquisition processes for prominent developer clients throughout Malaysia.
• Lead and conduct hearings and trials independently at both the High Court and Subordinate Courts, ensuring thorough preparation and effective advocacy.
• Draft comprehensive legal documents, including pleadings, submissions, opinions, and agreements related to land disputes and construction matters.
• Conduct detailed research into statutes, case law, regulations, and town planning strategies to support robust legal arguments.
• Advise clients on the commercial aspects of land acquisition processes, offering practical legal solutions tailored to their business needs.
• Manage construction dispute cases from inception through resolution, including negotiation, mediation, arbitration, or litigation as required.
• Collaborate with colleagues across departments to share insights on evolving legal trends in property law and contribute to team knowledge-building initiatives.

What you bring:

As a Senior Associate, you will bring proven experience in the relevant practicing area. Key requirements:

• 6–10 years post qualification experience (PQE) handling high-value land disputes or 3-5 years PQE managing construction disputes within Malaysia’s legal framework.
• Demonstrate strong research abilities by analysing statutes, case law, regulations, and industry practices relevant to property law.
• Exhibit excellent drafting skills through the preparation of clear pleadings, submissions, opinions, contracts, or settlement agreements.
• Showcase advocacy skills by confidently conducting hearings or trials at various court levels independently.
• Communicate effectively in both English and Bahasa Malaysia—verbally and in writing—to convey complex legal concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
• Maintain a positive working attitude characterised by dependability, responsiveness to client needs, and willingness to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.
• Demonstrate familiarity with town planning strategies as they relate to property development projects or disputes.
• Uphold ethical standards while managing sensitive information discreetly throughout all stages of client representation.
