Regional Legal Counsel An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Regional Legal Counsel to join a well-known F&B group with operations spanning across SEA. This role offers you the chance to provide legal guidance, ensuring the business operates within legal frameworks while supporting its growth plans. You will be working closely with senior management and cross-functional teams to align legal strategies.

What you'll do:

As Regional Legal Counsel, you will play an integral part in safeguarding the organisation’s interests while enabling its continued expansion across Southeast Asia.

• Provide comprehensive legal advice and support across all aspects of the group’s operations in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Indonesia, ensuring that business activities comply with relevant laws and regulations.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements including franchise agreements, tenancy or lease agreements, supply contracts, and partnership arrangements to safeguard the company’s interests.
• Monitor compliance with applicable legislation in each jurisdiction with particular attention to franchise law, consumer protection statutes, food safety regulations, and landlord-tenant requirements
• Work closely with the management team to ensure that legal strategies are fully aligned with broader business goals and operational priorities.
• Collaborate extensively with internal stakeholders such as operations, marketing, human resources, and finance departments to proactively identify legal risks and support new business initiatives.
• Manage relationships with external counsel when specialist jurisdiction-specific advice or representation is required for complex matters.

What you bring:

To excel as Regional Legal Counsel you will bring substantial experience navigating complex regulatory environments within Southeast Asia’s food & beverage landscape or similar sectors.

• Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree
• A minimum of 5–8 years’ post-qualification experience ideally gained within the food & beverage sector or related industries such as retail or franchising at either an in-house or reputable law firm level.
• Proven track record handling franchise frameworks including drafting franchise agreements and advising on regulatory compliance specific to multi-jurisdictional environments.
• Resourceful approach combined with a commitment to being a dependable team player who values open communication and mutual support among colleagues.
• Willingness to travel when required
